Today we’d like to introduce you to Mary Gallagher.
Hi Mary, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
After 22 years of being a stay at home mom to three amazing kids, caring for my elderly parents and working for my husband’s Landscaping Company, I decided to take a leap of faith and start my own business, TAG & CO. Boutique LLC. I have always been obsessed with fashion and boutique shopping, I love browsing in shops and putting outfits together. People always come up to me and ask me where I get my clothes. I saw how fashion could quickly put a smile on my elderly mom’s face and see her light up when someone complimented her on her outfit that I picked out for her! When covid hit and we were all ordered to stay home, I used that unexpected time to make a business plan and turn my dream into reality. The name TAG comes from my most precious gifts, my three kids, Tommy, Anna, Gabriell. My husband and I would be the company part! As with many small businesses, all family members play a part in it no matter if they want to or not. Known as my TAG TEAM, my family is my biggest support. My girls are always by my side at my POP UPS, my son is my tech support, and my wonderful husband helps get me to many of my POP UPS with his trailer! Our family is truly a team, and I am extremely grateful to have their love and support! Of course, it doesn’t stop there, my sister has also been instrumental to me and my business, there is just something so special about that one person who listens endlessly to all your hopes and dreams and everything in between, My Brother was also helpful in helping me build my website and launching it! And last but not least my friends, always there supporting and promoting my business!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
TAG & CO. Boutique is a multigenerational boutique where daughters, moms and grandmas can all shop the trends together! I handpick every collection consisting of pieces that any age can wear, you just style them differently! We specialize in trendy, comfy casual fashion that you can also dress up if you want to. We also carry a wide variety of accessories that include jewelry, bags and hats! We are an online and POP UP shop boutique. Our sizes are mainly small – XL but we do offer a small collection of Plus sizes. There is always something for everyone! A big benefit of shopping our boutique is that you’re getting great quality, trendy pieces at a great price. The pieces are unique and different. They are handpicked with love.
Our collection is small batch and always changing. The challenge however has been getting our products out there for people to see, touch, and try on in person at a place where they feel safe to shop during these crazy times. All that was solved when CLE MARKET reached out to me. Jennine Kessler offered me the opportunity to set up a booth at her pop up markets. This is where I started to see the magic of this community and the movement that was happening in Cleveland and many other cities…..Supporting the local businesses….shopping small!
I quickly realized that this community of amazing small businesses and entrepreneurs were so supportive of each other that I now refer to them as my vendor family. Everyone of them has played a part in the success of my Boutique. I feel like I have an entire team of mentors and supporters cheering me on. There is such a faithful following of customers that come to each of these events. Shoppers love the atmosphere of being outdoors, having live entertainment, dog friendly, family friendly, and lots of local food and shopping options! They have expressed to me how nice it is to meet the owners of different local businesses in person and hear their stories. I am so thankful for all you loyal customers who follow TAG & CO. Boutique to different POP UPS to shop and also on our online shop. This has been my biggest compliment!

Being out in the community and listening to people’s stories has made such an incredible impact on me and how i do business. I am committed to giving back to the community that has given so much to me. I feel so blessed! I find great joy in donating clothing and accessories to local non profits as well as giving a portion of each shows sales to differnt local charities.
