Meet Lena Arnold of Ohio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lena Arnold.

Hi Lena, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Wow! Where do I start? Well, the short of it is I have been writing since I was 11, starting with a class assignment to write a poem. It was about cats. I have no idea where that poem is today, but I remember that my teachers raved about this poem and shared it throughout the school. That was when I realized words matter and they are important. It made me feel really good and I wanted to keep that feeling going. Their actions are a testament to the power of teachers and their ability to impact students. It is also a testament to the power of encouragement. I have no idea what might have happened if I hadn’t received that positive praise. I do know what happened as a result. At that moment a writer was born. A writer who wanted to use her voice to bring joy to others and make the world a better place.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Is there really a real “smooth road” in life? Lol. No. One of the reasons I love Michael Jackson so much is that much of his life mirrored mine. (except for the money and fame part-LOL) I felt that pain of having a father who was not ideal. That’s the nice way of saying it right. My father never encourage my gift, and more often than not actually discouraged me. You know I also wanted to be a singer, but after a public appearance in the Hal Jacksons Talented Teen Pageant (whew I am dating myself with that mention.LOL) told me I was terrible! In the previous years pageant I wrote an amazing speech that I had won a regional award for and he asked me if I really wrote it? I was like “really” who else is gonna write it. Fortunately for me, by then I had embraced my gift and writing was the one thing I KNEW beyond the shadow of a doubt I was good at. So I kept at it. Even when it seemed like nothing positive would ever come out of it. I wrote in journals, on napkins, on scraps of paper-anything that was available when a thought hit me.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Let’s start with the books. I am the author of several books that I published independently through my company Emperor Publishing LLC. You can learn more about them by visiting LenaFieldsArnold.com. I specialize in writing. All kinds-from poetry to prose to novels, graphic novels songwriting, film, and PR. If it can be written I want to try it! I want to be a part of it. One thing that sets me apart is that I don’t believe in lanes! If I am driving the car I drive in the lane I want to drive in. I drive in the lane that takes me where I want to go. If you follow me on Instagram @theLenaVerse1, or my blog “Stuff Inside my Head,” you will see that, whatever pops up in my head will eventually come out! Hard to say what I am most proud of because I believe all my work has value. However there are two recent things I am currently excited about. The first being my first film Jackie’s Way, based on the Book jackie’s Way: Jackie’s Terrible Temper has been nominated for Best Animation in the Windsor Black International Film Festival! So YAY! shout out to Dom Campbell, owner and producer, Emperium studios for working with me on that project. And also the release of my song ” America (She’s My Girl) honoring our country for our nations 250 birthday.

How do you think about luck?
As a follower of Christ I don’t believe in luck. I do believe in God ordained talents and abilities and the importance of honing and growing those abilities in preparation for the opportunities that will come our way. I believe in the power of prayer, and dreams, and tenacity. I understand that every person on this planet is born dealt a different set of cards. You plat with the hand you have been dealt and you play the best you can play with what you have got. Sometimes you will win and sometimes you will lose, but you still gotta play the game till the end and never give up. It only takes a single card to turn the tide of the game. For me, the role of faith plays more into my life. I trust that God has given me a gift and equipped me with the means to use them and be successful. Not famous, not rich-successful. If fame and riches come, that’s great, bur what is more important is that I did not hide my gifts in the sand. I used them to multiply my life, my family, and ultimately God’s kingdom.
