Today we’d like to introduce you to Leah Moore.
Hi Leah, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I am Leah M Moore, a devoted wife and loving mother to five exceptional children. I am an ordained pastor, writer, role model, speaker (nationally and internationally), mentor, prayer strategist, former talk show host, and podcaster. I am the Founder of Grace Promises Women’s Ministry, a ministry that empowers women to walk in God’s power, passion, and purpose with grace! I enjoy preaching and teaching the Word of God. I am passionate about building up, encouraging, and comforting the Body of Christ. In addition to my ministry work, I have been a nurse for 17 beautiful years. I delight in working with geriatric patients and creating an atmosphere where they feel safe, loved, and healed. In 2012, while navigating a particularly challenging season, I recognized a profound need for community, particularly one tailored for women. It was evident that women required a space where they could feel safe, supported, encouraged, seen, and loved—a sanctuary where they could freely worship, bask in the love of God, and engage in fellowship with other women. Thus, it began with modest monthly gatherings, gradually evolving into Grace Promises—a vibrant movement. Whether local or connecting virtually, Grace Promises is a nurturing ground for your spiritual journey, enabling you to deepen your relationship with God and embrace your identity in Christ. We offer comprehensive mentoring services at Grace Promises, providing personalized 1:1 guidance as you navigate life’s transitions, heal from past wounds, and experience spiritual growth. Our offerings include dynamic conferences, engaging book studies, immersive Bible study sessions, uplifting prayer and fasting events, online devotionals, journals, and much more. We are committed to fostering a supportive environment where women from all walks of life can find solace, inspiration, and empowerment to thrive.
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it has not been a smooth road, lol! But the struggles and challenges made me who I am today, and I am grateful that God could trust me with it all. He knew I would not stay down because He had placed greatness inside me. Some of the things I encountered were depression and divorce. These two things tried to steal, kill, and destroy the purpose and vision God had given me. While going through these things, I didn’t know that there was joy and an abundant life awaiting me. With the help of God (my relationship with Jesus Christ), family, friends, community, and The Body of Christ, I healed gracefully, overcame obstacles, and reached back to help my fellow sister up.
Depression is a dark place. It’s where your thoughts, feelings, and emotions consume and trap you, and you see no way out. I dealt with depression at a young age, triggered by my parents’ divorce at age 12. I went through a loss of hope, and I even dealt with suicidal tendencies. Can I say this to any reader dealing with depression: There is hope and a way out in Christ. You will get through this season. Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning (Psalm 30:5). I am evidence that God can heal your heart and bring you out of dark places. Don’t be afraid to get help. Counseling and spiritual mentorship were part of my healing journey. Now, I no longer deal with episodes of depression.
I appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
As an ordained Pastor, one of the things I love to do is mentor and speak to women of all different backgrounds and walks of life. As a speaker, I find immense joy in encouraging women to embrace their God-given boldness, courage, and power. I believe that each woman possesses unique gifts and talents bestowed upon them by God, and it’s my privilege to inspire them to unlock their full potential and let their voices resound with strength and grace. My heart desires for every woman to recognize the beauty and strength within her and boldly step into the purpose that God has ordained for her life.
As a mentor, I developed a comprehensive program to help women grow spiritually, emotionally, and personally. Mentoring provides a sacred space for women to connect with someone who has traversed similar paths and understands the challenges they may face. Through one-on-one guidance and support, we journey together, navigating the highs and lows of life’s journey while deepening our relationship with Christ. Our mentoring program empowers women to cultivate a deeper understanding of their identity in Christ, equipping them with the tools and resources needed to flourish in every area of their lives.
I am deeply proud of the women we have had the privilege to serve through our ministry, witnessing firsthand the transformative power of God’s love and grace in their lives. It is genuinely humbling to witness the incredible growth and healing as women embrace their identity as beloved daughters of the King and walk confidently in the purpose and calling He has placed upon their lives. As we continue to journey together, I am excited to see the continued transformation and impact that God will bring about in the lives of countless women, empowering them to live victoriously and shine brightly for his glory.
What changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
As we envision the future of Grace Promises, our hearts are filled with hope and excitement for the global journey ahead. Over the next 5-10 years, we see the ministry blossoming into a radiant beacon of love, grace, and empowerment, touching the lives of Christian women worldwide.
At the heart of our vision lies a deep commitment to helping women grow in their relationship with Christ. We believe in celebrating the unique stories, backgrounds, and journeys of every woman who walks through our doors, whether virtually or in person. We want to create a tapestry of sisterhood that embraces and values every woman, a sisterhood that knows no bounds.
Technology will be our faithful companion on this journey. Through virtual gatherings, online devotionals, and social media platforms, we will cultivate a nurturing space where women can find solace, inspiration, and unwavering support, no matter where they are in the world.
But beyond the digital realm, our ministry will extend its loving embrace to encompass the holistic well-being of every woman we serve. With open hearts and listening ears, we will journey alongside our sisters, offering a compassionate hand to hold through life’s valleys and mountaintops. Together, we will boldly champion the cause of mental health, breaking down walls of stigma and shame with the healing balm of grace and understanding. And as we stand shoulder to shoulder, united in faith and purpose!
In the ministry of Grace Promises, every woman tells a story of redemption, resilience, and unwavering hope in Christ. As we look ahead to the future, we see a kaleidoscope of possibility, where each woman is empowered to step into her God-given purpose with courage and confidence.
With hearts full of gratitude and anticipation, we embrace the journey ahead, knowing that the best is yet to come for Grace Promises and the beautiful souls we are privileged to serve. Let us walk hand in hand, shining brightly as a beacon of light and love in a world that longs to be touched by grace.
