Meet Lamar Thomas of Take Flight Empire Clothing

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lamar Thomas.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started this brand as Take Flight Empire and it was mainly from sports, traveling, and drawing. Over the years I converted my drawings into more of the digital world and just made designs.

Over the years I started as a streetwear brand and now with the new name “Impero Prendi IL Volo” we are a luxury streetwear brand. Bringing this new luxury look builds the confidence of all our supporters and makes them feel as if they matter because they do.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I don’t think anything is a smooth road. It’s the bumps in the roads that teaches me and keeps me going. Learning how to market. Who to market to, when to release and etc.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m also an employee in the Cleveland school district. Being an educator over the years teaching different level of kids and seeing them grow is a great feeling.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Just be yourself and don’t focus on the money aspect. Do what you feel and love and everything else will come
