Hi Kelly, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Picnic Party Cleveland was born out of the love of community. The most special relationships are largely built around a table: a first date, a Christmas dinner, a kitchen counter. When our world looks different, uncertain, and scary, we come back to the basic elements of human connection: our people, some good food, and the ability to be present with each other. We hope that Picnic Party Cleveland can play a small part in the connection with your people. We are here for small gathering & big memories.
I learned about luxury, pop-up picnics during the pandemic, and thought it was such a unique and special way to celebrate with your friends. I have always loved a big party, but love to connect with a close group of friends even more! Picnic Party Cleveland aims to merge the two, bringing an exciting way to celebrate big moments through a small gathering.
The first picnic company I saw was Picnic Party Seattle. I reached out to the owner Hannah, for more information. She helped me get started on building Picnic Party Cleveland here in Cleveland! We now have a community of Picnic Party companies all over the US. I think there are currently 11 of us, from LA to Florida, to Colorado & beyond.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Building a business with no location can be tricky! We face issues like park permitting & unpredictable Ohio weather. It definitely makes each picnic unique. 🙂
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I love the creative side of designing picnics! I love when clients have a custom request for a theme. It’s so fun to gather ideas & see what works and doesn’t work. We are constantly trying new things & problem-solving! I feel like our niche as a picnic company is larger events. We can currently take up to 25 guests, which allows us to put on micro weddings & showers. I think my favorite event to host is bachelorette parties! They are always a lot of fun.
I also have a full-time job on a marketing team. I feel like picnics allow me to bring out my creative side to create something unique and beautiful, that other people can enjoy as well.
