Joshua Works

Hi Joshua, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve been out of the military for more than 20 years. When I got out, I owned and operated many businesses, and at times, I found myself more focused on success rather than my physical health; in 2016, I was overweight, unhappy, and physically and mentally checked out. After selling a business, I was inspired to travel a bit, but I also wanted to focus on my physical health finally! At 36, I was determined to fix my weight and lower back problems. I was able to grasp a love for the fit process. I learned about counting calories and tracking workouts to ensure proper success on my voyage. I realized that the fitness industry was booming then, and I devised an idea to monopolize it. So, I began working on a new Venture, NEXTLEVEL FIT.

Would it have been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No- throughout the time I’ve been investing, I’ve also had multiple other businesses. Unfortunately, I always found myself robbing Peter to pay Paul. I’m still working on this fitness venture, hoping it eventually pays off. Five years and 5 months, I’ve been officially working on the business. There have been many, many obstacles so far. I could explain more in detail if needed.

I appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about NextLevel Fit?
My business sells nutrition and bodyweight scales linked to an all-in-one fitness app I’ve designed and developed. The unique part about the app and the scales is that it takes the guesswork out of your fitness goals. The app’s primary functions are calorie/macro counting, workout tracking, and a diet coach. Generally, if someone wanted to hire an online coach, that coach would tell their client to purchase the two scales and ask them to track their calories and their workouts. Within the app, our diet coach will use specialized algorithms to tell you how many calories you should eat based on your goals—using the scales to streamline this process. I understand. There isn’t an app with scales and features like mine. It’s unique, and I’m just going day by day trying to figure out the best way to get more app users and scale sales.

What would you say has been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Budgeting, project management, do more research.

Pricing:

  • Nutrition and bodyweight scale combo $64.99
  • App – $5.00 monthly , $45.00 yearly, $80.00 lifetime
