Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My name is Jordyn Peaks and I’m a journalist, author and CEO of Daily Abiding Media Co. Over the course of my news career, I’ve had the opportunity of working with companies like ABC6, NBC4, WNBS 10TV News, CNN HQ, The New York Times, ABC News in West Perth Australia and more. In December of 2020, I left my career in journalism as a news anchor, reporter and producer, I felt The Lord inviting me into new territory. After working in news for nearly 9 years, I took a position as the “Social Media Director,” at a local mega Church here in Columbus. I was there for 2 months and remember The Lord telling me that “I have everything I need to do this for myself.” Through that loving invitation I took a huge leap of faith and started Daily Abiding Media Co. where we specialize in helping brands, businesses and corporations scale through media consulting. We offer everything from marketing and PR to social media services, script writing, copy editing, grant writing and more! Though it may seem like working for yourself is the best job there is, it’s not always easy and requires a lot of patience, intentional work, community and most importantly: a solid trust in The Lord. In addition to being a journalist and business owner, I’m also a published author, contributing writer for Forbes.com, and a public speaker. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my Husband (Married this May), loving on our families, running The House of Prayer and Worship at my Church, reading my bible and having a good time.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Nope! I’ve had to learn many things through trial and error, some of my initial struggles have been believing in myself, setting solid systems from the beginning, on-boarding the right people and more.
