Meet Jordan Miller of Dayton

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordan Miller

Hi Jordan, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I remember the first time I seen a professional Bodybuilder, it was the 2003 October issue of Muscle & Fitness. Ronnie Coleman was crowned Mr. Olympia with Jay Cutler as the runner up. I was only 13 years old at the time.
I was naturally an athletic kid and very competitive in sports.
After graduating high school I decided to follow in my grandfathers foot steps and joined the Army. I deployed to Afghanistan shortly after being assigned to my first duty station. Being deployed to a combat zone is special, your stripped of all the comforts and all you have are the guys next to you, people from all walks of life together for a common goal. We had a tent on our base with some gym equipment…. it was hardly a gym to American standards none the less it had heavy stuff that you could pick up and put back down. This became my sanctuary, no matter how bad things got the gym was there for me. Stress, anxiety, fear all forced into submission with each rep.
A decade later I still continued to make the gym a daily habit.
The desire to compete still burned deeply inside of me but I knew a natural guy like me wouldnt stand a chance. In January of 2023 I seen a flyer at my local gym that said 100% natural bodybuilding show, polygraph and drug tested, I knew this was my chance and after 10 years of training I finally told myself I am as ready as Im going to be. I found a coach to get some input, I needed an honest opinion to know if I had a shot, he said yes! So we went to work. 15 weeks of prep, learning how to pose, strict diet, and being hungry.
Show day finally arrived. Showing up for check-ins I started to have doubts. All the athletes looked amazing! I had never been on a stage infront of people let alone with….not many clothes on. I took a deep breath and remembered how many years I have prepared for this moment and it paid off! I took first place in Amature, Military, and open class B. This was a pro qualifier show so the top of each class competes for the overall winner and is crowned as a natural Pro athlete. I came in second and didn’t receive the pro card for the overall but success isn’t measured by gold medals. Sucess is being better than you were the day before, its learning from your failures and applying those lessons learned into your future choices. 2025 I will be back on that stage competing for the title of Natural Pro Bodybuilder.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
People on the outside only see the results of bodybuilding. Lifting weights is one tiny part of what it takes. The strict diet has no room for error. If your cardio, diet, sleep, water intake is off slightly the whole thing falls apart.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Bodybuilding is a sport where art and athletics are combined. The level of discipline required is tremendous! I compete in the division known as classic physique.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Bodybuilding has many risk. Gym injuries are inevitable. Being single digit body fat can also be dangerous as it can lead to nervous system damage, dehydration, weakened immune system, and cardiac arrhythmia.
