Meet Jessica Nielsen

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Nielsen.

Jessica Nielsen

Hi Jessica, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I’ve always been creative and decided to pursue a degree and career in interior design at Columbus College of Art and Design. After that, I spent time at a handful of design and architecture firms designing for retail, restaurant, and hospitality brands. I’m now one of the partners and the Chief Marketing Officer for A.M. Scott Distillery and its family of brands based in Troy, Ohio.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No road to success is ever smooth. Navigating the supply chain, managing a team of different personalities, and meeting customer expectations are just a few.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I have my hands in anything our customers see, touch, smell, and taste. I lead a team of incredible designers and merchandisers to create custom products, including but not limited to a full line of spirits by A.M. Scott Distillery. We have two retail shops where those goods are sold – Provisions Co. and Scotty’s Bottle Parlor. Our spirits are also sold in over 60 state of Ohio liquor stores.

We’re also preparing to open a cocktail lounge and restaurant, along with a live music venue in Troy. I’m the lead designer on that project, and it’s going to be a special place. It’s in a 1928 theater, and I’m grateful for my experience in the design industry – it’s being put to great use throughout this whole design process.

In 2024, we’ll open a second cocktail lounge and restaurant in Plain City, Ohio. It will also have a Provisions Co. attached to it. Along with sharing our collection of spirits and more Ohio-made products there, it’s a way to help develop the quaint downtown of Plain City. They village is seeing rapid growth being on the outskirts of Columbus and we feel it’s a solid next step for our brand.
