Today we’d like to introduce you to JaCene Muziq
Hi JaCene, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Well, to start off, I’ve been doing music since I could remember. Starting in church with my family for my parents to my siblings we all have some type of musical ability, vocally, or even being a musician. Everyone thought I was going to be the one furthest from Muziq cause I never wanted to sing, but that definitely changed and shocked everyone I started singing at talent shows and fundraisers more and more as I got older writing poetry and then putting my poems to music and then became a part of a group called 100 strong I was with them for about 3 years starting in 2015. I was one of the very few females a part of the team and also one of the only ones who was a singer. I stood out very much, but eventually feel like I outgrew being in a group I wanted to take time to put more effort in time behind myself, and I did just that I started to promote and create my own events building my name off of more than just my music so for years, my name became bigger from winning different competitions traveling out of the city and state getting booked for celebrity openings and then being discovered by a record label called pretty money records. I was asked to come to New York and I did just that with me and my children I packed up and left. It was a very nice experience some good some bad of course everywhere you go. You’re gonna have some pros and some cons. I met a lot of good people and definitely experience some very wonderful events in New York traveling back-and-forth wasn’t always easy but I made it happen. I am currently in a situation where I’ve learned most local artists should know that they are better off on their own and that no one will treat you like you can treat yourself no amount of money and no promise is worth giving up your say so over yourself. I am now branching out with my children’s educational character and channel to spread awareness of equality, education, love, kindness, and to give the spotlight to our children of all ages who have different success stories, and to acknowledge their accomplishments rather that be musically academic, or Sports jaja Wrld it’s going to be the next big thing though I’m switching it up. I will always be JaCene Muziq. No one can take that away from me. I am also a very experienced graphic designer. I do pretty much everything from massages to Graphics to Muziq to writing and I also love children.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It started off smooth definitely got bumpy with having children and then later on being signed to a record label shows you the different boundaries and situations you have to go through to appease someone else you might think something is best for you, but they might not think that at all
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in anything creative. My mind is a busy bee house of many different ideas. Creations and I plan to demonstrate that with my new upcoming children’s character and channel Jaja Wrld. Jaja is an alien who will spread the awareness of equality, love kindness, and education and give the spotlight to those children who have success stories and accomplishments rather that be musically sports or academic. I plan to shine the light on those who deserve it there are so many children coming up missing Growing up too fast or being killed and my goal is to bring the childish things back that we missed, I remember growing up and not wanting to grow up so fast because we have so many things distracting us and keeping us a kid we need those things back and what better to grab someone’s attention by just acknowledging them for the things that they are doing
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important thing I’ve learned along my journey is don’t do what you think everyone else wants you to do but do what you know you want to do no matter what anyone else has to say about it don’t feel forced to be something. You’re not even if it is something you enjoy doing make sure it’s something that you want to do and fulfill in full.
