Meet Greg Mack of Physicians Fitness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Greg Mack.

Hi Greg, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
As a graduate of the Navy’s Nuclear Engineering School, Greg used his foundation of engineering skills, his enthusiasm for fitness, academic certifications ACE–Medical Exercise Specialist (CMES), ACE-Personal Trainer (CPT), (American Council on Exercise), and Resistance Training Specialist Mastery (resistancetrainingspecialist.com) – and his extensive experiences working with a wide variety of medical professionals to develop the Muscle System Specialist™ Training Program and the Mobility Profiling Method of pre-exercise physical assessment.

Experience to Lead, Awareness to Guide

His experience in working in such diverse venues as community gyms, chiropractic, and medical practices enhanced his awareness of the wide gulf that exists between the medical community and fitness facilities, particularly for those individuals trying to recover from, and manage, a diagnosed disease. This led to the development of a comprehensive documentation and communication system that coordinates exercise and fitness programs for individuals with diagnosed diseases from the medical community, the core of Physicians Fitness operations.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome? NO. Trying to connect with the medical community as a fitness professional has been challenging. There have been language and communication issues, economic (fitness is not an insurance reimbursable service typically), ego and turf protectionism, and our original model of bringing our services into the actual working spaces of the medical providers was difficult because we did not control the space.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Physicians Fitness is in the business of helping to solve your problems of pain and poor movement by rethinking exercise and physical fitness.

Exercise is not just for weight loss and sports performance! Exercise can be strategically applied to help you heal and overcome pain, and other physical sensations you do not like that are related to bodily movement and control.

An exercise should be tailored to your unique body; you should not be forced to fit the predetermined confines of a specific exercise – especially if it causes you irritation, discomfort, or pain. Our team specializes in medical and orthopedic exercise and Prohabilitation™ by taking a holistic and transparent approach to your unique circumstances.

We explore past the surface and journey through your medical history, getting the details of your physical history, digging deeper into your real and personal needs and goals to create a fully custom mobility solution for you based on your stubborn pain points, chronic discomforts, and daily routine.

We define “Pain” and other sensations you do not like through Information Set Theory. The Information Set Theory of Pain states that all physical sensation, including the choice to use the word “pain,” is a conclusion by the brain constituted by the quality and quantity of information flowing within and throughout the body control system at any given moment.

This means that changing the information set may just create a scenario where the brain no longer concludes “pain”!

Specifically designed exercises, based on your unique needs, can change the information control set. We have a completely unique process for assessing and approaching your unique information control profile.

What matters most to you? Why?
Being able to help the individuals in my community live a pain-free life and enjoy a higher quality of life through healthy movement and muscle system health.
