Today we’d like to introduce you to Gabriella Poirier.
Hi Gabriella, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
The story of how I got into photography is pretty simple! I like to give credit to my childhood best friend that picked up her camera first. I wanted to be as cool as her, and the next thing I knew, I was by her side taking photos. Fast forward to today, I’m a full-time wedding photographer and I can’t thank her enough… I like to call it a happy accident!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Being a wedding photographer means that I get to experience once-in-a-lifetime moments as they unfold in front of me. The experience for me is priceless and indescribable. The only downside is that I occasionally have to miss my family’s special moments.

I pride myself on being a documentary-style wedding photographer that encourages my couples to show up and completely be themselves. There’s nothing more timeless than showing up as you are and being yourself, no matter what’s in style. Aside from splitting my time between Cincinnati and Chicago, I also photograph destination weddings across the country. In 2023, I hosted 3 editorial content workshops for photographers in France and Italy, with over 30 photographers in attendance!
What makes you happy?
I love seeing the people around me be happy… plus being trusted to photograph once-in-a-lifetime moments is pretty cool.
