Meet Frank Simmons Jr of Cincinnati College Hill

Today we’d like to introduce you to Frank Simmons Jr

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My story is a long one. Military, Senior Pastor, Men’s Pastor, Youth Pastor, Church planter, High School, College, and business motivational speaker coach and trainer, Training Manager, and Senior Operations Manager and more. My wife and family have been in Ohio for 18 years after living in 7 other states and originally from Savannah Georgia. In all of that, I started posting online on different platforms and have a small level of success on Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok under Frank Simmons Jr. and That’s A FRANK Thought with motivational and inspirational quotes and stories based on my life experiences.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road. I have had many challenges along the way mainly in the area of consistent employment and finances. Since moving to Cincinnati for a job as a Regional Training Manager for a company owned by Monster.com, Making It Count, I have been laid off due to downsizing 3 times since 2011, had 5 different jobs, and almost lost our home and cars along the way. At the age of 52, I was almost about to give up.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I have a full time job that I enjoy now and a previous job that I loved as well but, became too stressful. In the middle of all of the previous thing I mentioned, I enrolled in Media School and graduated in broadcasting. I purchased equipment and tools to set up a studio in my basement and began producing videos for YouTube under That’s A Frank Thought. It was slow to take off, so I still have my day job. I also started doing motivational and inspirational videos on the streets after running 2 to 6 miles starting each video with What’s up everybody 😀 That line became something that people could relate to as well as my tag line That’s A Frank Thought. I don’t know if I am set apart. I do know that my thoughts are original, heartfelt, honest, and inspiring.

The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
Yes. It taught us how to do more with less. It taught us how to be more creative and it taught us how to have more compassion for our fellow man. It also taught that when doors close opportunity opens more.
