Today we’d like to introduce you to Frank Hailstock.
Frank, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I had gone on a date to an escape room out of town and had loved the concept. I knew that this was something I wanted to bring back to my hometown in Cincinnati so It was great to turn my vision into a reality in June of 2018.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
With any business you will have ups and downs, which we of course do have, however, I am very grateful for my professional and educational background and it having prepared me for the highs and lows of entrepreneurship. Throughout all of the changes, the last few years have brought to my fellow business owners and entrepreneurs, We at OTR Escape are excited for what the future holds!

OTR Escape is just one of the many attractions in our OTR Funplex. You can visit The Splatter Room Cincinnati which is fun art! You fling paint on a blank canvas (or each other) and make your own masterpiece! You can check out OTR Games where families, friends, frenemies, colleagues, even kids can come to gather in our private party room and play fun interactive games. We are excited to bring everyone more fun activities in the near future! I take pride in being a black entrepreneur in the family entertainment space. Which is such a fun and exciting world to be in! What sets us apart is that we are a one-stop shop for a variety of fun and exciting experiences for guests of all ages!
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I have had many wonderful individuals contribute to the success of my business. I am grateful for each and every one of them. I am blessed to know many wise and intelligent people. So much credit goes to my mother. My mother has been a full-time entrepreneur for most of my life and I was able to have a direct line of sight into the life of entrepreneurship at an early age.
