Meet Faucetmouth of Columbus

Today we’d like to introduce you to Faucetmouth

Hi Faucetmouth, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Faucetmouth started in the Fall of 2023 as a small music project between friends from other groups we had met in the Columbus area. We played our first show in November of 2023 and it’s just been nonstop since. The band really took off a lot quicker than we had anticipated and we’ve just tried to roll with as much as we possibly can.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s been a lot smoother than anything else we’ve done in the past. No band is without its struggles, but we’ve really been fortunate to not have anything that has really stopped the train from moving forward!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We’re currently a 5 piece alt-rock/emo band. We’ve mainly been playing around the Columbus area, but we’ve been lucky to branch out to other areas of Ohio. Our sound is sometimes hard for us to pinpoint; we all have a wide range of influences and experiences that allow us to create some unique sounds that we embarrassingly struggle to describe when people ask “what’s your sound?” We’re very proud of our community for being so welcoming and supportive of our work. We’ve made so many good friends in the last year and it’s truly amazing that we continue to meet new people. The progress we’ve made in such a short time would not be possible with the incredible Columbus art and DIY scene.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
I don’t think we have many mentors, but there are plenty of great people out there. We’ve found the best method for networking is just being involved in the community you’re serving. Everyone we’ve met recently is just from being ourselves and playing shows. It sounds very cheesy, but treating people with the respect and kindness they deserve is the easiest way.
