Hi Ellie, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Studio 4980: A Place Where You Belong
Our story is one of love, resilience, and the beauty of togetherness.
In 2020, with my Dad- a police officer of 30 years- by my side, we began restoring a 175-year-old historical building, saving its stunning 10-foot ceilings, original brick walls, fireplace, and Victorian-style windows.
This was our final project together before he lost his battle with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer. We celebrated his 70th Birthday party with close family and friends, and my Dad shared his final Birthday wish: Always To Be Together.
My Dad was a beacon of kindness and joy, touching countless lives.
At his funeral, amidst the challenges of COVID-19 and social distancing, three parking lots overflowed with people sharing stories of how my Dad’s kindness and love changed their lives.
Inspired by his legacy, I made it my mission to create a place that embodies his spirit- seeing the good in everyone, always smiling and forgiving, and cherishing each moment with family and friends.
Studio 4980 is now a place filled with joy and laughter.
We’ve hosted various events, from intimate family gatherings to large community celebrations, all brimming with love and happiness.
Our space has become a cherished community treasure where friends reconnect and families create beautiful memories.
Studio 4980 is more than just a venue- it’s a place where life and everyone are celebrated.
You can visit our studio every Tuesday and Thursday from 3 to 6 PM to experience the warmth, love, and magic that fills it and create unforgettable memories with us.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Studio 4980 has been the most complicated three-year construction project fueled by love, faith, and every penny we could borrow to restore and renovate it. While the Studio is owned by investors and a board of directors, daily operations are run by the same small but mighty team that gave birth to it. We love and cherish every guest and look for ways to awe, inspire, and share the magic of our events. We know our guests by name and constantly look for ways to add hand-made props and furniture, unbelievable value, and give back to the community and small businesses around us. Our vendors are local families who take pride in their products and services and love and cherish our guests as much as we do.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I grew up in Bulgaria, a small Eastern European country bordering Greece, Turkey, Romania, and the Black Sea. Although we faced poor and challenging political and economic conditions, there was a strong sense of belonging, community, and love for one another. We spent our days playing in the neighborhood, and the first time we locked our front door was when I was 13—that’s how safe, quiet, and enjoyable life was during my childhood.
Our parents would see us briefly at 8 AM before heading to work and then again at 8 PM when we returned home, tired and hungry after a long day of playing and doing good deeds. As a child, I dreamed of becoming a doctor to help people. I actively sought ways to assist elderly neighbors by carrying their groceries and doing small cleaning tasks. My friends followed me in doing so, initially reluctantly and eventually with hearts full of joy. We often ate homemade jam sandwiches and spent afternoons listening to stories about the “good old times” in one of the neighbors’ houses.
I am still grateful to have most of my childhood friends today. In a way, I have fulfilled my childhood dream of helping others by planning, organizing, and decorating events for our studio guests.
