Today we’d like to introduce you to Donna Ackerly.
Hi Donna, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I have been working in the home health industry for over 20 years. I am currently serving as Vice President of Client Services for Concierge Home Care… I am a “solutions specialist” for my clients. It is my goal to make a difference in the lives of the people I serve. I have been supported by passionate nurses and therapists that make this possible.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I lost my wonderful husband, Bill, in August 2021 to Covid-19… This is the most difficult challenge I have ever faced. He was my biggest inspiration during our marriage of 30 years. He was a true entrepreneur, an artist, a veteran, and the love of my life.
In March 2023, I hosted a charity event to honor my husband and benefit veterans and first responders. We sold 73 of his beautiful paintings at a silent auction and raised over $10,000 for the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. This event was the perfect way to honor Bill’s memory and fulfill his legacy. It feels wonderful to know his work helped make a difference in the lives of our veterans and first responders. Even though it was difficult to let go of his paintings, I know he would be so proud.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am so blessed to be surrounded by dedicated and passionate nurses and therapists. Our team is committed to making a difference in people’s lives. I want to be an inspiration to others …embracing the hard times as well as the good times. It’s through our challenges that we experience growth and gain strength.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you.
I give all the credit to God for putting the right people in my path to lead to my success including a wonderful, supportive family and network of friends. I am very blessed. Luck is a state of mind. I believe that we create our own destiny through our attitude and spoken words. Hard work and preparation leave no need for luck. Move forward with faith and passion, and the rest will come.
