Meet DK Jones of Soza Fitness & Wellness Hippie Chemist

Today we’d like to introduce you to DK Jones.

Hi DK, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
With over 20 years’ experience as a chemist in the chemical/coatings/polymer industry and over 20 years experience in allied health and wellness. I was relocated from Detroit, MI to Cleveland, OH in 2011 for work. Also, parallel to this, I was teaching group fitness classes, and on a health journey myself. Upon relocation to Ohio, I joined Soza Fitness & Wellness as a member. Fast forward, I became a partner in the business and purchased the business in 2017.

I also started a second business, Hippie Chemist, in which I developed a line of natural wellness products.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
As with any business, there are ups and downs. Soza Fitness & Wellness was started in 2010, and it has definitely been a journey. Being an entrepreneur is not for the faint of heart…LOL. It is a constant grind because as a small business owner, you have to fill every position in the company. You are customer service, marketing, sales, business growth strategist, media specialist, and everything in between.

Then COVID enters, and the entire fitness and wellness landscape has changed. I am still in the process of pivoting and trying to figure out this new world of fitness and wellness.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Soza Fitness & Wellness Hippie Chemist?

What’s next?
I am still trying to figure that out. But I do know collaborations, partnerships, and new business opportunities are on the horizon.
