Meet De’Marrco Cannon of Ohio

Today we’d like to introduce you to De’Marrco Cannon.

De’Marrco, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My name is De’Marrco Cannon aka D$MONEY I was born on August 11th in the year 2000 . It all started at the age of 1 when I was playing on pots and pans with 2 wooden spoons since then my mom and I knew exactly what I was destined to do for the Glory of God I’ve gone on to play in multiple churches with various ohio musicians and many artist around Akron something i still do now as an adult . I love what I do being able to express myself on a musical instrument that’s been apart of our history for decades it’s truly a heartwarming feeling .

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Most times it’s smooth and other times it’s not I’m often always learning something new and walking away with a lesson learned on what and what NOT to do when playing drums for artist & alongside MD’S ( Music Directors ) whether it’s something with the tempo or how loud or how soft or looking closely for the signals I’m often learning more than I thought but I’m getting better at it .

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a professional drummer who plays LIVE MUSIC for various artist specializing in HIP-HOP , JAZZ , GOSPEL & R&B I’m often known for being a very solid POCKET drummer that knows how to hold down a beat I’m also known for being very easy to work with not giving anyone a hard time being a team player and just being there when people need me even if I’m just a drummer that’s filling in for someone else . I feel like what sets me apart really is that I can catch on to certain music pretty quickly and if I can’t get it 100% right I improvise pretty well too . Mostly I’m proud of just being able to make an artist happy and being sure that they have a great time and performance at wherever a show may be .

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
To all children out there who want to become a drummer or any musician when they grow up my advice to you would be keep God first believe in yourself don’t be afraid to get out of your comfort zone practice your craft and most importantly BE YOURSELF! .
