Today we’d like to introduce you to Deanna Evans.
Hi Deanna, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I had been working in the event industry for 10 years before the company I worked for closed. Around the time that my daughter was going off to college, I wanted another income stream to help pay tuition. I remembered the feeling of being so stress free on my wedding day, thanks to my sister stepping in to manage everything on the day of. So I thought; that’s what I’ll do! I’ll combine my love of events and my desire to help couples feel as great as I did on my wedding day. What started out as a company that provided ‘day of’ service [part time, while I worked a corporate job], grew to what it is today, providing Full Planning, Destination and Corporate Gala’s.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No business is without it’s struggles. One hurdle I had to quickly overcome was learning that I don’t have the same support as I did when I worked a corporate job. There was no longer an accounting department, shipping, customer service, HR, marketing or sales. I had to wear all of those hats! This means that I sometimes work way more than 8 hours a day. Some tasks I enjoy and some I have to make the decision to outsource.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I am an event designer and event planner. This means that I come up with wonderful concepts then custom design events and plan all logistics involved.
I like to refer to my events as ‘boldly-beautiful’. My design esthetic uses bold colors and infuses unique experiences that speak to the spirit of the client and the event. I will always infuse something from each client into every event.
I’m most proud [and thankful] of the amazing reviews that past clients have given me. My brand is a great marriage between high touch service and refined style. I plan weddings, social events, corporate events, networking events, and Galas. I work with other creatives who take pride in presenting new approaches to events.

It was through these productions that she developed a deep connection to diversity which then fueled her love for creating weddings that reflect the personal stories of each couple.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
I can remember helping my mom decorate our home. She had a gift for taking an expensive look from a magazine or a catalog and re-creating it in an affordable way for our home. It was so special to watch and I was always in awe of her talent to DIY decor, clothes, and even hairstyles before I even know what DIY was.
