Today we’d like to introduce you to Cream Camino. Them and their team share their story with us below:
Cream Camino began in 2012 with just Jeff Manning (vocals/guitar) & Jon Gunder (drums). Having forged a friendship in our youth – the chemistry was organic and the intentions of Cream Camino was to have fun and make good music! Over the years of 2015/2016 Jeff and Jon recorded an album (Dames & Disbelief) with no intentions of releasing it on any streaming platform. In 2017, Jarrod Pinkerton (bass), was introduced to Jeff through tattooing and indulging in some informal jam sessions. Jarrod was invited over to jam with Cream Camino – and it was naturally orgasmic – we knew he was a missing piece. That’s when we decided to take Cream Camino to the people. We released our first album globally, and soon began working on our second album (Closer To The Bridges).
Over the next few years, Cream Camino was known as a 3 piece. Having opportunities to play numerous venues within Central Ohio and opening for national touring acts, we took this further than any of us ever dreamed. Having garnered the support and positive response from so many people, it was never a question of should we keep going.. although we knew something was still missing.
The stars aligned for us all near the end of 2021 – that’s when our friend, JC Young (guitar), joined Cream Camino – allowing us to provide the fullest sound we had portrayed on our albums. With Jeff having done most of the guitar recording, we could now provide the rhythm and lead guitar parts that many were accustomed to hearing in the studio recorded versions.
They are now working with ERG Talent to continue to bring Cream Camino to the people and rock this world!!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It’s a fun struggle. We wouldn’t change it for anything. It’s a lot of hard work behind the scenes to pull it all together, and from more people than just those that grace the stage and play the music. A lot of practice to make us sound and look polished. From the band van (that lost its life to a deer – RIP), to the the band trailer, providing most of our own artwork and graphics, we’ve always been mostly self sufficient. We try to support local as much as possible when it comes to our merch and what we earn via sales or shows goes right back into Cream Camino. It’s an expensive passion that keeps growing!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We love to cover songs in a way that makes it feel like you’re hearing the song for the first time again. Our originals are catchy and multi-genre. We’re mostly proud of the relationships we have built with other musicians, venues, and our fans!
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
Jeff – “Riding twin mattresses down the stairs.”
Jon – “Going to Columbus Motor Speedway with my best childhood friend.”
Jarrod – “Super Mario 64!”
JC – “Riding motorcycles on the weekends with my Dad and my brother.”
