Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandy Frank
Hi Brandy, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I found Macrame 3 years ago right after my youngest son was life flighted at 15 months old. He was life flighted three days after we were discharged from his second open-heart surgery. I was full of fear, anxiety and depression… desperate to turn my anxiety into something good. I stumbled upon Macramé when I was shopping for plant hangers to buy for our home and decided that I would try my hand at it with a YouTube tutorial. My first time macramé-ing was in a Ronald McDonald room, the night before a cardiology appt. I realized that night how soothing it was to turn my anxiety in art!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
So many struggles and blessings along the way over the last three years. In the beginning the most challenging thing was wrestling to take the limits off God and go all in with this macramé business. I remember that day in 2021 as I was crying at my kitchen table trying to give up my unbelief for trust.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Mama’s Macramé is a unique multifaceted small business. We take custom orders for pieces that you can use in your day to day life, we have our useable art in local stores, we travel to local businesses and homes to lead fun macramé classes, and lastly we offer services in the wedding/event planning industry with our uniquely designed Macrame backdrop!
We are not only bringing macramé back but we’re making it fun!!
How do you think about happiness?
It makes me happy being able to do what I love in my own home while also being apart of the community around my kids schedule.
