Today we’d like to introduce you to Ben Riffe.
Hi Ben, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I started my tattoo apprenticeship in 2007. Spent 11 years tattooing at Stained Skin in Columbus. Was offered a residence at Red Tree Tattoo Gallery in 2019.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Learning to tattoo and becoming an accomplished artist with a large clientele was definitely a very long road… I’ve been at this for over 14yrs and still feel like I’m still learning.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a full-time resident artist at Red Tree Tattoo Gallery. This is a private tattooing studio and art gallery. It’s also the biggest tattoo shop in Ohio.
What do you think about happiness?
Creating art has always made me happy. Being able to take a person’s vision and translate that into art, and then be able to apply that to their skin… there’s nothing like that in the world.
