Today we’d like to introduce you to Anthony Capuano.
Hi Anthony, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I was born and raised in Canton, Ohio. After a few years of working in the Canton area, I knew I needed to be in a bigger city. I decided to make a move. When I arrived to Columbus I didn’t have anything, just an empty wallet and a cheap apartment. There has definitely been hurdles and loops to jump through, but with determination and hard work I was able to find success. After a few years of networking and growing my client base. It was time for me to think bigger. I decided to open my first shop (Tops Barbershop). My business has generated over one million dollars in revenue during the first 18 months of opening. I am very proud of the team of barbers that I have recruited to help make this possible.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I would be naive to say that my journey was smooth and easy. But I’ve always had extreme self confidence. I was very determined to succeed. I never doubted myself. I knew I could achieve anything, and when a bump in the road came my way. I would put my head down and grind my way over it.
We’ve been impressed with Tops Barbershop, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We’ll myself I am a owner and operator. I have now been barbering for over 12 years. I am a multi-award-winning barber in multiple states. I am an also an educator and mentor to many barbers. I teach and share my proven strategies to barbers and stylist. I strive to educate them on achieving financial freedom using proper investment strategies. This will help them generate passive streams of income and set them up for early retirement.
As for the business, Tops barbershop was created to attract a high-end clientele. We attract clients who truly value professionalism and take pride in their appearance. The shop is a traditionally ran barbershop with a bit of a modern yet classic finish. We take pride in our master craftsmanship. Collectively we are a very sought-after and highly skilled group. My hiring process is very strict and strategic. Every single barber at TOPS has mastered their craft, and has their own unique style. We are known for our quality and kindness. We pride ourselves on making every client feel welcomed and comfortable. Here at TOPS we want you to feel at home and leave feeling and looking great. We are striving to be the best barbershop in Ohio.
What makes you happy?
My family is everything to me! I am the most happy when I’m with my wife Adriana and our beautiful baby boy Luca. I enjoy traveling to new places and making memories with my family. I enjoy educating and helping out other barbers anyway I can. I truly want to see our profession grow. Relaying all of the knowledge I have gained over the years to others can help them immensely. I would not be where I am today with out the knowledge I personally learned from others. So it feels good to be able to now pass on what I have been taught, and show others that anything is possible. Even in this profession.
