Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I grew up having sensitive and dry skin which will flare into eczema breakouts. Feeling ashamed of my skin I would cover it up even during summer seasons. Towards the end of my college career, I no longer wanted to feel entrapped or uncomfortable in my skin, I began searching for the right product that would not only hydrate my skin but will keep it moisturized without irritation due to my sensitivity. I can assure you it was a very trying journey, I could do not find the right product that was safe and in alignment with my new holistic path. I then began to apply my new lifestyle changes with my skin. I no longer wanted skin-irritating dyes & fragrances, brands that weren’t ethical and or sustainable. So, I started making my own herbal remedies in the kitchen, I started it for myself to heal my skin, after my friends & family could see the results, they encouraged me to start to sell it. However, Promises to Care did not become a full brand or business until I found out I was pregnant and then the messages was very clear and symbolic it was time to birth not only new life but a new project. Promises to Care was birth from consciousness and cohesiveness with Mother Nature and all the beautiful things you can learn from plants.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has been a whirlwind of many different things. A lot of my struggles was trying to keep my intentions alive and full but also allowing things to be universally relatable. I box my brand and mission a lot to fit what “skincare” looks like. It was a lot of comparison that would distract me from the reason I started. I truly love to talk about the mental and emotional waves that can exist within owning and running a business, especially growing one by yourself.

What makes us different from most skincare brands is that we use actual healing modalities to create the products, so they are beneficial for your skin but your overall well-being. We reiki each bottle with love. If you are not familiar with reiki it is energy healing. So, our brand is very energetic and focus on holistic approaches.
