Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyson Davis.
Tyson, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’ve been a photographer for the past six years, and over time, I’ve really honed my skills in both shooting and editing. I started out capturing different types of photography like events, portraits, and creative shoots. But as I grew in my craft, I realized my real passion is in fashion photography. I love the mix of creativity, style, and storytelling that comes with it.
Now, I’m focused on working with models, building a strong fashion portfolio, and making the right industry connections. I’m open to traveling for work and, more than anything, I want to establish myself in the fashion scene in South Korea. The industry there is thriving, and I know it’s the perfect place to push my creative vision even further. Right now, I’m working on expanding my network, shooting more fashion-forward work, and positioning myself for bigger opportunities.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. In the beginning, it was a lot of trial and error and figuring out my style, learning from mistakes, and navigating unpaid gigs just to build experience. There were times when things didn’t go as planned, whether it was shoots not turning out how I envisioned or struggling to get consistent work.
One of the biggest challenges was putting myself out there. Networking and making connections didn’t always come naturally, but I knew it was necessary if I wanted to grow. Over time, I kept pushing, improving my work, and building my confidence. Now, I’m in a place where I know what I want, and I’m going after it with more intention.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a photographer with a strong focus on fashion and portrait photography. I specialize in capturing unique, high-quality images that highlight individuality and style, whether it’s working with models, brands, or creatives looking to bring a vision to life.
What I’m most proud of is how much I’ve grown, not just in skill but in confidence. Over the years, I’ve refined my craft, developed a signature style, and learned how to tell a story through my work. One of the things that sets me apart is my attention to detail. I don’t just take pictures; I create images that feel intentional, artistic, and impactful.
I also bring a hands-on approach to my shoots, making sure my clients feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera. My goal is always to elevate the people I work with, whether it’s through bold editorial shoots, striking portraits, or creative collaborations. And with my interest in international fashion, especially in places like Korea, I’m looking to expand my reach and take my work to new levels.
What matters most to you?
What matters most to me is connection! Bringing people together through images. Photography isn’t just about capturing a moment; it’s about preserving emotions, stories, and memories that might otherwise fade. Without photos, we wouldn’t have a way to look back on our journeys, celebrate our growth, or relive the moments that shaped us. My goal is to create images that not only showcase beauty and creativity but also hold meaning, allowing people to see themselves, their work, and their experiences in a powerful and lasting way.
