Life & Work with Taylor McGlashan of Columbus

Today we’d like to introduce you to Taylor McGlashan

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I am originally from South Jersey and I went to undergrad at High Point University in North Carolina. I was a Division 1 Women’s basketball player, and I got my degree in Business Administration. I graduated a semester early, spent some time at home, and during that time at home, I decided I wanted to go to law school. I graduated law school from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law and took the Bar Exam in 2023. Now, I am a corporate attorney at a big law firm headquartered in Columbus,

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There have definitely been a lot of obstacles! Law school was full of successes and failures. The experience of law school is both academically and mentally draining at times. However, there are many days that are fulfilling and have made me excited to practice law. My struggles varied from maintaining my mental health in law school, trying to secure summer internships and a full-time job, studying for the bar exam, and the list goes on and on!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a corporate attorney for a corporate law firm that generally represents businesses and corporations. This means the nature of my practice is mostly transactional. For example, that includes doing mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, securities, as well as public corporation work. I also would like to grow my transactional practice with more sports and entertainment related matters. Outside of work, I create content on social media about law school, being a lawyer, and the ins and outs of the legal profession from my point of view. I love the idea of building a brand around my profession and who I am as a person. I believe my experience in building my own brand as a lawyer sets me apart because it allows me to be more open-minded, creative, it creates networking opportunities, and it also encourages me to continue to work hard and perfect my craft as a lawyer.

What’s next?
My plans for the future are to become a very good lawyer, continue to learn and curate my practice, and to build my individual brand.
