Today we’d like to introduce you to Nyla Marion.
Hi Nyla, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I graduated college with a fashion degree. My grandma became sick literally the month after graduation. I never left her side. Instead of going into fashion and leaving the city, I became a home health aide. During the years I have worked with many companies, and I have also done private duty. I was able to see quickly what was wrong with the home care industry. It was missing people that cared. I offered a couple of companies well I asked if they would create a position for employee training I was told No! The reason I asked this is because a lot of employees in the healthcare field lack compassion, morals and a general care for what they’re doing. So that’s what made me decide to start my own company. I only wanna hire people who care not someone who is just here for a check. Because I care. I go above and beyond for not only my clients but also my employees. The healthcare field is something you have to have love bigger than yourself to always offer compassion to others. So here I am offering compassionate care with a personal touch.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road at all it’s bumpy. I often want to give up. But I know there are clients out there that need me. It’s hard to fine clients. It’s pretty rough. Even though I don’t want more than 15 to 20 clients because I cannot stay hands on with more than that. But not having more than four is very hard. I currently still work as an STNA and I also volunteer at a daycare. So I am pretty busy. But I’m trying. I would like to change the way that home healthcare is ran and also the way employees are treated.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Being in a home healthcare industry we are literally the first people to arrive. We are the first people that clients see. We are there before family members we are there long hours and nights. We become closer to clients than their own family. We have to be there no matter what. Being in this industry were the first people on call! If it’s a blizzard outside I’m there, if I have my own family emergency it Hass to wait because my client who may have no family Hass to come first. I am most proud of being able to put my clients first. Because some people have no one else.
So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
Get to know me. And see if I am worth referring. If you know a senior, make sure they’re in the right hands with family and others that is the most important thing.
