Today we’d like to introduce you to Marna Niese.
Hi Marna, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I have always loved to bake and decorate for friends and family! With their encouragement, I decided to start my home bakery, Marna Cakes, in December 2016 selling custom cookies, cakes, and cupcakes. In the past 6 years, I have had the opportunity to bake for so many wonderful people, for all the special occasions in their lives: birthdays, weddings, baby showers, graduations, holidays, and so much more! I love being able to bake at home!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
While staying home with my kids has been amazing, it is also challenging to find time to decorate and get all my orders done! So I have to find pockets of time throughout the day to get everything completed. It is not always easy but it always gets done!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
What I love the most is creating my menus for every holiday! I love getting to create different cookie designs, choosing to package, and cute tags and ribbons to go along with them! I am always trying to find the perfect gift for my customers! I try to set myself apart with my customer service.
I am always trying to email my customers back promptly and get all their order details set so they have one less thing to worry about for their big events! I am most proud of teaching cookie decorating classes! I love to be able to teach people how to decorate and watch them do better than they thought they would be able to! It is such a fun time to teach others my passion!

I grew up in Sunbury and I have lived here almost my whole life! I love this area as it still has a smaller town feel but is only a short drive away from Columbus!
