Today we’d like to introduce you to Logan Miller
Hi Logan, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
The Rather Unfortunate began as a simple outlet for a small group of friends to hang out and have some fun together. Now, with Logan Miller, Ian Crabtree and Steven Squires, we have a dynamic that are extremely grateful to have. We have become brothers through our experiences in this band and we continue to strengthen that dynamic to this day. We write music that depicts complex emotional struggles and triumphs. We take the life experiences of our own and those around us to create lyrically and musically compelling stories
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I wish I could say the road has been smooth. We’ve had many moments of hopelessness and questions of “why are we doing this?”. We’ve had some bad shows, bad interactions with people, and equipment malfunctions more times than we can count. But that’s part of the journey, and we push on because we’re ultimately doing what we love to do and that doesn’t get tainted by any struggle we’ve had
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
We are an alternative rock/punk rock band from Cincinnati Ohio. What sets us apart is that we don’t constrain ourselves to the traditional limits of what you can do as an artist. We love doing things our own way, at our own pace. Art is subjective, as is the way that you create it. As a band, we do things the way we want without any pressure of feeling like we’re doing anything “the wrong way”
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
The future of The Rather Unfortunate is quite foggy, but we are pressing on in our own way and adapting to whatever these strange times throw at us. We will be (hopefully) releasing another album within the year. This band has become the tool that has shaped many great friendships, connections and experiences since forming. We are excited to be able to continue using this band as our outlet of expressing ourselves and our personal experiences and we are incredibly grateful for the people that continue to listen to our music to this day
