Life & Work with Karl Gruber of Columbus

Today we’d like to introduce you to Karl Gruber.

Hi Karl, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Even as a little kid growing up in the Cleveland Ohio area I always wanted to be a disc jockey on the radio, and so that is what I did. I attended Ohio State University, got a degree in Communications, and then went on to spend 20+ years on the air as a DJ in the Columbus radio market. First I spent 16 years at K-95 (WHOK-FM), then went to WCOL-FM & AM, and finished my radio career in 2017 – 2019 at WCBE-90.5FM. I continue to this day using my microphone as, since 2018, am the host & producer of the popular podcast, “World Awakenings: The Fast Track to Enlightenment”. My show is about all things spiritual, metaphysical, and enlightening as I do one-on-one interviews with some of the world’s greatest teachers, authors, and masters in these fields. How does a disc jockey go on to do a show like this? In 2012 I became a certified Law of Attraction Life Coach, as I have always had a deep interest in the spiritual and metaphysical side of things. On top of all this, I have been a runner for the last 45 years, and have run 78 marathons total. In 1996 – ’97 I became only the ninth man in the world to successfully run and complete 52 marathons in 52 weeks. I called this year of marathoning my ‘Super Run for the Cure’, as I ran it all to raise money and awareness for leukemia research. Running has kept me sane and fit for all of these years. As a matter of fact, I am still deeply involved in the running community as I am one of the race announcers for both the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Columbus Marathon (since 2005), and the Cleveland Marathon (since 2011). I also coach the Brewery District Running Club in Columbus. I am the author of six published books – 4 paperback, and two eBooks. I guess you could say I am a bit of a Renaissance man!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Ha ha, do you know of anyone who’s life is nothing but a smooth road? Certainly not mine, although overall I have never (unlike so many people) suffered any abuse physically or mentally during my lifetime. I am blessed an grateful that I have and continue to live a peaceful, mostly happy, and super healthy life.

If there have been any struggles in my life is that, in pursuit of my goals and dreams, have given up some beautiful and lovely things to accomplish them, followed by long periods of attempting to recover from leaving them behind. Despite this, I move forward with my life knowing that I have done the right things to help make the world and it’s people a better, happier, and healthier life. The best advice I ever received came to me during mediation when Spirit told me, “Karl, if you fall down, get up, brush the dirt off, keep moving forward, and DON’T LOOK BACK!”

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am most proud of my becoming the 9th man in the world to successfully run 52 marathons in 52 weeks in 1996 – ’97

Creatively, writing and being behind a microphone (whether announcing races, talking on-the-air, or podcasting.

I fulfilled a dream by writing and publishing in 2022 my most recent book, “True Spirituality & the Law of Attraction: A Beautiful Symbiotic Relationship”.

I am super grateful to be the founder and chief administrator of a large Power of 8 Healing group (with over 2100 members from round the world) on facebook, in which we do individual and group healing sessions for people, places, situations, and things that need healing. The Power of 8 is based on the extensive research of author/researcher, Lynne McTaggart and her book, “The Power of 8”.

I am a certified life coach, and my primary goal is to help people remember their true, inherent, powerful Self they were born to be so they can go on to life the life they love, and love the life they live.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I can’t say that I am in any specific ‘industry’, as my goal is to bring more and more Light, Love, and Truth into the world by walking (or running) the talk that I talk with integrity.

With technology and the instant inter-connectedness of every human on earth, I believe we will continue to see massive changes in our world in a relatively short amount of time. Will those changes be good or bad? Well, that is up to each and every person, both individually and collectively. As for myself, I choose the good, the positive, the loving, and all things healthy and happy!
