Today we’d like to introduce you to Hailey Park
Hi Hailey, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I was the girl who liked to paint my own nails and it was therapeutic for myself.
I got a Manicurist license in 2018 and I dreamed of owning my own business at what I like to do.
Standardly I have worked over 60 hours per week, continuously practicing, which helps to grow skills, along with continued education.
I own a traditional nail salon in Uniontown, Ohio; including 4 massaging pedicure chairs and manicure tables.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
My business journey has been very dynamic and has taught me many life lessons. I’ve learned several things about people. Especially that we are all unique. We learn, grow and present ourselves differently. As an entrepreneur, I’ve learned that patience is key; especially with myself as I navigate managing my own business and employees. All struggles in life are like a roller coaster. I enjoy the peaks of the hills. And the fall to the valleys are quick and unexpected; no time to prepare for them. I’ve learned to enjoy the ride. The most impactful lesson I’ve learned is to keep going and to not give up. There’s no running away from problems as a business owner, you have to face them head on.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a licensed nail technician. I primarily do manicures and pedicures. I specialize in structured gel and acrylics. My attribute that my clients compliment me on the most is my creativity. I look for inspiration from my clients, other artists and everyday life. What sets me apart from other nail technicians is that I take my time and have perfected intricate designs on small nail plates, while still respecting my clients wallets. I’m consistently learning through continuing education, others within the industry and through my own experiences. The passion that keeps me evolving is finding new techniques and products to enhance both the art and fundamentals of nails.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
We all have to start somewhere. So l learned the basics of being a nail technician through other small salon owners and perseverance. I was determined to make my learning a competition for myself. If I was told I could master a skill in 6 months. I wanted to master it in 3 months. My passion for growth came from my very optimistic husband who has supported me in every aspect of my career; as well as, helped me reflect on my flaws, recognize my progress and lend a helping hand. Encouragement from my neighbors and clients What sets me apart pushes me to thrive daily. I admire how much positive energy can radiate from others, which as lead to many blessings in my life. I am inspired by every person I meet and their stories are the ones that keep me going. For every person that’s come into my life, I thank you.
