Today we’d like to introduce you to Emily Hwang.

Hi Emily , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
As young as I can remember I loved all things beauty and fashion. It has always been a comfort zone. It felt natural and organic for me.

Throughout my teen years I did my friends makeup for fun. From homecomings, makeovers, girls night and prom. My career and success has been lead by my on going passion for my field. You have to be self-motivated to thrive in this space,

Being self-driven has lead me to where I am today, and it will continue to be a moving force for me. When you are passionate about what you do and the people you get to serve it will feel organic.

Life is full of stepping stones. Every experience I had was an opportunity to grow. Today, my business feels very me and congruent with who I am. The past 7 years of being self-employed has went by so fast.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There will always be challenges along the way. Every one’s path is unique, different and beautiful. You always learn the most from struggles, those are the best lessons.

If you had a smooth road that is not relatable and realistic. The bumps in the road make the juice worth the squeeze.

As you navigate through your business you will quickly learn how to communicate appropriately and effectively with customers but also not being afraid to stand your ground. When you choose to specialize in a skill set, you eventually become a master of your craft. Don’t be afraid to charge your worth because hard work does not go unnoticed.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’ve been an Advanced Licensed Esthetician in the state of Ohio for 17 years. I specialize in Esthetics services like makeup, brow shaping, facial waxings, skin treatments and lash extensions. I also have a tattoo permit that allows me to provide PMU/Microblading.

I am really known for my makeup artistry, I would say that is my first love. I am most proud of myself stepping out from a corporate life salon setting and making my own path. I’ve really enjoyed creating my brand of carefully and skillfully crafted custom beauty services for my clientele. I am proud of fostering trust with my clients and others that see my work, it’s my life work and I am proud and confident of what I do.
