Today we’d like to introduce you to Diane Boden.
Hi Diane, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’m Diane Boden from Columbus, Ohio. I began podcasting in 2016 after connecting with a friend over our shared interest in minimalism. That conversation led to *The Minimalist Moms Podcast*, a show about intentional living and simplicity.
After two years, my co-host stepped away, and I continued solo, shifting to an interview format. Even without monetization, I stayed committed, and the podcast steadily grew alongside the rising interest in minimalism.
Now rebranded as *Clear Intentions*, the show remains focused on meaningful conversations. Guests share personal stories and insights, encouraging listeners to reflect, grow, and pursue a more intentional life.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It’s been as smooth as it can be. I faced some sound quality issues early on, but after upgrading my computer, the technical complaints stopped. Anytime you step into a public-facing role, criticism is inevitable. It doesn’t always feel good, but you learn to stay focused, do your research, solve problems as they come, and keep moving forward with purpose.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Any recognition I’ve received comes from creating Minimalist Moms—both the podcast and the book. I’m most proud of maintaining consistent production, no matter the circumstances. For nearly eight years, I’ve released new episodes almost every week. Staying consistent with content can be challenging, but each week has felt like a new puzzle to solve—and I’ve always enjoyed figuring it out.
What makes you happy?
Being in nature. Mini-adventures with my children. Animals (especially farm animals!) Spending time with friends. Intentional conversations with strangers. Walks at dusk. Making my morning coffee. Laughing!
I’m in my mid-30s, and I’ve come to realize that it’s the little things in life that bring me the most joy. Big life events often come with a slow build-up, and once they’re over, it can feel like a sudden drop on a rollercoaster. But the small, everyday moments—they’re always there, if you take the time to notice them. That makes me happy.
