Today we’d like to introduce you to Charles Wilkerson.
Hi Charles, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
LegendVisualsLLC all started in 2017, and I changed my photography name to the TheIcyShooter in 2018, because I’m cold with that camera and I know it. It goes back to the inner city schools of Cleveland, living in the city with little resources at schools and violence around every corner. My friend and I joined a photography club in the 3rd grade and that’s when it happened; that’s when I fell in love with photography and knew I was always going to be in the arts. Music, photography, videography, graphics it is all about self-perception, but nobody can define your art. I bought a camera in 2017 and started shooting everyday, just anything I could find buildings, trees, strangers, cars, etc. I had family and friends tell me to finish college and start a business later and I couldn’t let other people tell me about my success. My business has been growing slowly but any growth is better than no growth. I lost friends before they could get to live their lives, so I will never take life for granted and I don’t fear failure, because it helps you grow as a person. I could have walked away from the business after year one because I didn’t see any growth in sales or clients, but I knew it would take hard work and dedication. I’m dedicated to my mission of success for my family because they will always have my back in hard times and good times. Today, LegendVisualsLLC will continue to grow and everyone will know the name TheIcyShooter. Thank you.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My obstacle on the road to success is really struggling with marketing. I have broken cameras and have been robbed for cameras, but I will not stop. I have ran into clients that complain about prices and hard to work with because they are super picky, but that’s business. I love the grind and I love the work ethic I have to get it done with children, model, portrait photography and videography. I have been told by a client before that I should stop doing videography, but why stop when I can improve my craft and keep going. The road to success have not been easy just a lot of unforeseen events, but nothing is going to stop me from improving.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a Content Creator. I do photography and videography for all platforms. I am most proud of being able to capture special moments for people and make them feel special for a day.
I set myself apart because I can read people and make everyone feel comfortable doing shoots. No matter what happen, the weeks or days leading up to a shoot my clients will always know that I put them first. Every person I shoot with is important to me because it’s art and we have to make the best of our situations.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I would love to work with other creatives and move forward in my life of business. The support can be through following me on Instagram @theicyshooter and going to my website to see my portfolio: wilkersoncb.myportfolio.com.
