Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Coach Angela Brown

We recently had the chance to connect with Coach Angela Brown and have shared our conversation below.

Good morning Angela , it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
“Recently, I had a moment during one of my clients’ wins that made me both laugh and feel incredibly proud and reminds me why I am so needed. We were reviewing her business strategy, and she said, ‘Coach, I finally used my voice the way you keep telling me to, and people are listening! We both laughed, but inside I felt so proud. Watching women break through fear, step into authority, and see the results… that’s the fuel behind everything I do.”

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Coach Angela Bee, a business and beauty entrepreneur who believes in second chances, bold choices, and building money-making brands with purpose. I run multiple programs, from beauty and business education for youth, to digital marketing for small business owners, to entrepreneurship coaching for women who are ready for more. I’m also a self-published author, sharing my journey and the lessons that helped me rebuild and reinvent myself.

What makes my brand unique is that I’ve lived the highs and the hard parts. I’m a mother, a former felon who earned a pardon, an educator, and a businesswoman who learned how to start over more than once. I teach what I know from experience, how to grow, how to heal, how to turn your skills into income, and how to stay confident through setbacks.

Right now, I’m focused on elevating my programs, expanding my impact, and helping more people build a life and/or business that feels aligned, profitable, and truly possible.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
My earliest moment of feeling powerful was the day I realized my past didn’t get to dictate my future. I remember standing in a classroom, teaching, leading, pouring into my students from all walks of life some younger than me some older than me, thinking, ‘I made it here after everything I’ve been through.’ That moment reminded me that my voice, my choices, and my resilience were stronger than anything that tried to break me.”

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
“Yes. When I first stepped into entrepreneurship, there were moments where the pressure, the fear, and the financial risk made quitting look easier. I questioned whether I was capable of leading, coaching, and rebuilding my name. But every time I wanted to give up, someone I had helped would come back with a win, a testimony, or a breakthrough, and it reminded me that my purpose was bigger than my doubt.”

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What truths are so foundational in your life that you rarely articulate them?
One foundational truth in my life is that purpose always outweighs circumstance. I don’t always say it out loud, but it’s the principle that guides every decision I make. No matter where you start, what you’ve survived, or who counted you out, purpose has the final say. I move with confidence because I know I’m here on assignment.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. If you laid down your name, role, and possessions—what would remain?
If I laid down my name, my role, and everything I own, what would remain is my character, my resilience, my compassion, my faith, and my ability to rebuild from nothing. Titles and possessions can be taken, but the woman I’ve become through every setback, every comeback, and every lesson… that part of me is unshakeable.
