Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Anita Carnevale of Cleveland – Broadview Heights

Anita Carnevale shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Anita , we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
My mornings revolve around coffee—I start the day with a cappuccino and spend some quality time with my son before diving into work.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Anita, the owner of Spuntino, a charcuterie business dedicated to offering high-quality Italian bites. I proudly partner with Molisana Italian Imported Foods to source the finest authentic ingredients!. “Spuntino” means “small snack” in Italian—perfectly capturing what we’re all about. Most recently, I launched the Spuntino Truck, a Piaggio Ape imported from Campobasso, Italy, bringing a taste of tradition to your event.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who taught you the most about work?
My parents were my greatest teachers when it came to work. They showed me that you can achieve anything in life if you give it 110%. Do your work with a smile, hustle, be kind, and always show up! Sometimes you’ll have to push through tough moments to reach your goals—but those challenges only make you stronger.

What fear has held you back the most in your life?
A fear that’s held me back in life is the fear of letting down the people I love by failing. It’s been difficult to move past that mindset. But what I’ve come to realize is that true happiness and success come from within. Only I can define what that looks like for me. I’m the one who knows my purpose—and sometimes, honoring that means choosing a path that others might not expect or understand.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
The cultural value I cherish and protect most is tradition. Coming from an Italian family, we have so many meaningful traditions that have been passed down over the years—though I’ll admit, keeping up with all of them can be a challenge! Still, I love them. They take effort to maintain, but it’s all worth it when you see your family gathered together, sharing those special moments. To me, tradition is one of the most overlooked values in today’s world, and I believe it’s something we shouldn’t take for granted. After all, Spuntino was inspired by these very traditions!

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
If I retired tomorrow, I think my customers would truly miss the convenience of grabbing a beautifully crafted, Italian-style charcuterie board whenever they needed one!
