Today we’d like to introduce you to Whitney Stires.
Hi Whitney, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
After high school, I decided to try out massage therapy school because I knew traditional college wasn’t going to be for me. I went to American Institute of Alternative Medicine(AIAM), did their nine month accelerated program, took the state test, amd started my career. I’ve been at it now for 20 years. I’ve had my own clientele mostly for most of my career. I dabbled a little working part time in other establishments, but found that being your own boss is the way to go haha. I’ve been renting a room upstairs at the Grandview Chiropractic Center since 2013. Dr. Francis Wilamosky and his front desk manager(and wife) Trudy have been an absolute God sent for me! They are a big part of where I am today woth myself. Our office is like one big happy family and I couldn’t ask for a better place to work.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Well I dont think life is a very smooth road in general at all, but to be honest God has really blessed me by always providing me with clientele when I really needed it. It’s been incredible actually. I have gained some of the absolute best clients and some turning into life long friends. I’d say this journey hasn’t been too big of a struggle at all, and I’m so grateful for it!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Healing Touch Massage by Whitney?
When it comes to my practice, I’ve always kept the business part very simple. I don’t do bookings online. I know its convenient, but I like to keep interaction with clients from beginning to end. The only way to book is to call/text or email. Call or text is best though, I see it faster. I like to respond in a very timely manner if possible. As far as the actual massage, relaxation of course is always a given when you do massage, but I’m also really good with deep tissue and trigger point therapy. I would say I kind of combine all of it during a session. It works quite well. I really haven’t had anyone leave unhappy, at least that I know of haha. I always have a great relationship with my clients. I’m very personable and easy to get along with, and easy to talk to if that’s your thing during a massage. If you don’t like to talk, I’m happy with shutting up too haha. I think all of this sets me apart from others. I’m great with people and I’m good at what I do, all at the same time!
We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Well I’m a pretty open book, but for anyone who I may not have seen in a while, won’t know that my husband and I have acquired a little 10acre farm down in McArthur, Ohio. We have been there now for almost 4years. We have horses, cows, a donkey, a turkey, dogs ,cats, and chickens! It’s a grind, but we love it!
