Hi Stephanie, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My name is Stephanie Holtzapfel. I am owner of You in Bold, LLC in Columbus, Ohio. I started You in Bold fall of 2021. As a self-starter and go-getter, I have always wanted to own my own business and had not found which of my passions would fuel it until I came upon permanent makeup for eyebrows. Permanent makeup for eyebrows may sound like a silly thing to most but for those that it caters to, trust me, it is not. I was beholden to my eyebrow pencil before I got my eyebrows done with permanent makeup. As a natural blonde, I have sparse, light-colored, barely there eyebrows. When I looked in the mirror without my eyebrow makeup on, I felt as though my face was missing something. I felt much more confident and comfortable facing the world with some brows to frame my face and accentuate my eyes. When I had my brows done with permanent makeup, microblading, and powder brows to be exact, I found myself wishing I had done it sooner. Effortless brows which gave me no-makeup confidence.
This is where I discovered the passion for my business – working towards giving other women that no-makeup confidence by creating effortless, awesome brows. Eyebrows are small things that make a huge difference and this is what I wanted to offer with You in Bold. Giving women confidence while keeping them feeling like themselves – my goal for each client, to leave feeling like YOU in BOLD.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My journey has been that of an entrepreneur – an entrepreneurial road is not often smooth.
The biggest struggles have been building brand awareness and competing in a saturated market.

You in Bold, LLC has a mission to give women no-makeup confidence. We currently offer microblading and powder brow services to create effortless, beautiful brows to both enhance an individual’s face and boost confidence.
You in Bold’s brow services are unique in that we can create brows as natural-looking to as makeup-like as a client requests. We listen carefully performing a thorough consultation to ensure we capture the clients’ expectations for results. We check in after the procedure to ensure satisfaction and offer the flexibility at their touch-up appointment to go bolder if they would like. We are known for our more natural-looking microblading technique.
