Hi Philip, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
In 2000, I started my first business. Despite having a business degree and over 10 years of experience in the marketplace, I didn’t know what I didn’t know. I hired a business coach and joined a mastermind group. It helped me go from struggling entrepreneur to success. After 4 years, I sold the business in 2005. As a result of my success with a coach and Mastermind, I started Maximum Change Business Coaching to work with entrepreneurs, specifically digital service entrepreneurs, by providing a group mastermind and coaching experience. Entrepreneurship is a lonely journey, but it doesn’t have to be.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I often tell my mentees that Business is the longest-running experiment in the history of history. It’s about learning what works and what doesn’t. Trial and error. I have experienced a lot of errors, and I have used them as an education. I have learned that setbacks are learning moments, and I learned that entrepreneurship doesn’t have to be lonely. Having like-minded people around me that are in different stages of the business journey helps me and others grow, and ultimately succeed.
