Inspiring Conversations with Liam Abrigg of Bentley Studios

Today we’d like to introduce you to Liam Abrigg

Hi Liam, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My story goes back to myself starting my first business around the age of 13 repairing iPhones, all out of a little brief case and my mom acting as my Uber driving taking me to my clients. From there I gradually transitioned into a DJ business to follow my love for music. This then lead to myself finding my passion for photography in high school, taking photos for my sports teams and senior photos for my fellow classmates. As my involvement with my high school grew, they eventually asked if I’d be interested in teaching a class involving creating social media content as credit towards my graduation. I accepted and ended up teaching a class to my fellow classmates as a high school student myself. All of this then lead to the opportunity to shoot my first wedding, which has brought me to where we are today. Having been in since 2019, 272 weddings later, I am still loving every second of it! Now Bentley Studios has become a destination for all types of commercial work and weddings locally and international. And it’s not just me behind the business, I have an amazing group of people working under the umbrella creating memories for our clients that will last forever. We have a physical studio location and office in Columbiana Ohio with the second location in Tampa Florida in the works!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Everything is always a learning experience, for me I’ve always stayed true to focusing on the people I surround myself with to help tackle any hurtles that have come our way! I’ve always focus on the mentors I look up to in all walks of life.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Bentley Studios ?
Bentley Studios is a group of creatives that strive to create an amazing product for our clients. In the wedding industry, we offer photography coverage, video coverage or both for our couples. We average anywhere from 40-60 weddings a year throughout the US and the occasional international wedding as well!

On the commercial production side of the business, we get hired to shoot anything from product photography, to cooperate events, to promotional videos for local business, just about anything we get asked to be a part of we take on. Over time, we have built relationships to where we are on retainer with constructions companies, development companies or even car dealerships to produce monthly content. I have also been a licensed drone pilot since I started the business, so on average I am shooting drone photos and video for construction companies weekly.

My team I feel is what sets us apart the most. I’ve really strived in creating a family environment for my photographers to where everyone feels they have a big role in the business in what we are doing. I even have made an effort to provide all of them with equipment whenever we are shooting weddings so the stress of a second shooter is not there. To show how valuable they are, I take them on dinners, or I’ve even planned trips to Disney or LA to show my appreciation because I know I wouldn’t be here without them.

Myself and my lead photographer/assistant Maria started a podcast just recently. The whole concept was we get to work with so many great people and not everyone knows the person behind the storefront so why not offer a cool way to showcase them! The podcast is called The No BS Podcast and it’s on all platforms.

I am very proud of our studio location in Columbiana Ohio. This were I meet with our clients, shoot studio content, run the podcast out, there are team editing stations, my personal office, a gear room and a bunch of cool antique’s I’ve collected along the way. I am currently working on expanding to the Tampa area of Florida. I recently just signed on an apartment and will spend the end of the year networking and looking for the nest studio location there. I have filmed a decent amount of content in and around Florida so it made the most sense to expand there!

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I wouldn’t base any of my success on luck. What I have been able to do is from the dedication I have put into my business, but also making sure the people in my corner of the ring are better than me and smarter than me so I can learn from them and become a overall better person.
