Today we’d like to introduce you to Latosha Shelton.
Hi Latosha, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
I’m Latosha Shelton; I’m 34 years old and a mother with 2 daughters, ages 3 and 9. I was born and raise downtown Cincinnati and the Westside of town. I attended Hughes High School but obtain my high school diploma from Taft Technology High School. Growing up, I was consider the nurturing mother to my friends and family. It seem as if everyone came to me with their problems; even at the age of 13 years old, grown adults would come vent to me about problem they were experiencing in their marriages. My brothers would tell me about all their hardships and struggles they were having. Being the only girl, I was left to play this mother role even when my mom wasn’t available. My friends would look up to me and value my opinion. I never understood why I was put in “Dr. Phil” role. Lol. It’s not until I got older that this was truly considered a gift. I went through life trying to figure myself out, so I explored many career path such as trucking, UPS driver, customer service, serving, and obtaining so many trades, just to be lead down a path that still didn’t resonate. I felt like it was more to myself and that I had a dying urge to help people.
The world shut down in 2020 (Covid), and now I was left with a newborn baby and a toxic relationship that I had been in for too many years, and just me myself and I. I couldn’t no longer avoid myself. From the day I look in the mirror and said, “Today I vow to make a change,” I felt like God needed me to change because the world needed me! From that moment, my life hasn’t been the same. I went on a healing journey, left many things behind, move forward, and started living in my path and my truth.

Fairy God Mother Doula Services is a company that helps women through childbirth. It’s a woman employed to provide guidance and support to the mother of a newborn baby. We provide prenatal support, birth support, and postpartum support.
In 2023, I graduated from Mortar Cincinnati for business through that Journey, I birth my new business.
“Boss Life Global” Boss Life Global is a company that give women a sense of life! We specialize in personal development. “I say Fire The Boss And Become The Boss,” whatever that looks like for you and your journey. Our mission is to give women Voices by building confidence. We focus on teaching women how to move like a boss by developing their leadership skills, building their confidence, and helping them create successful businesses or even a new start to life, mentally, spiritually, or financially. Our community of like-minded women is committed to supporting and uplifting each other as we navigate the challenges of entrepreneurship, personal life, or leadership. We thrive to put women on their path and mission. We provide tools, knowledge, and resources for them to become successful.
I now have a sense a hope. I never knew that god gave me a gift that was truly special and that it was in me the whole time that I just needed to tap into. I can genuinely say doing this work makes me feel like I’m a little girl again, and that’s doing what I’m naturally good by helping and serving!

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t been a smooth road. I had to relearn myself all over again; for so many years, I was lost. Really not aware of it. I second guest what people thought of me because I was taking a turn in a different direction. I lost so many people around me because I gave my life to what god Called me to do.

Boss Life Global is a company that focuses on women personal development. We give women a voice by building confidence Our mission is to empower women to level up, walk in their truth, and find freedom in their journey. We provide women with the tools, knowledge, and community they need to thrive, from personal growth to professional success. We focus on teaching women how to move like a boss by developing their leadership skills, building their confidence, and helping them create successful businesses.
I’m known for several things, such as my personal development course I teach 4 times a year. I teach a unique method called “The Butterfly Method,” it focuses on transitioning. We highlight self-awareness, goal setting, cultivating healthy habits, and maintaining goals.
The main thing I’m known for is the community I provide for women. I have a BLG membership Club. It’s a private Facebook page. In this group, you’ll find a community of sisterhood. We love on each other, but we hold each other accountable. We have book clubs, wellness tips, life hacks and tips. We support each other through hard time. We host many events, such as tea parties, Vision board social, picnics, and more. All in all, it’s a place to be yourself and grow and learn.

Risk-taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I learn that risk-taking is necessary for growth. I’m a firm believer of Life being the best teacher. I believe that risk-taking helps you learn how to handle setbacks. We take risk every day when we wake up and leave out the door; it’s unknown, right? It can be a good day or a bad one. It’s really our job to be aware of things around us and make decisions that can give us the best outcome. So, it’s ok to go though life taking risk; it’s how we handle the outcome.
I took a major risk in 2020! I quit my career job and decided to become a full-time entrepreneur. I didn’t have a real plan; I just knew I would be ok. THAT WAS RISKY! Giving that I still had home obligations. But I wouldn’t be who I am today if I didn’t take that risk. I’m now a business owner of two businesses, and although they aren’t where I want them to be today, but I still trust the process; if I have a setback, it’s a much bigger comeback.
