Today we’d like to introduce you to L. Renee’ Chubb. Them and their team share their story with us below:
L. Renee is an Ohio Buckeye, born and raised. She still resides in Ohio with her husband, James, and their 2-year-old dog, an Italian Mastiff, Kane. She is the mother of one son and the grandmother of a beautiful 4-year-old girl.
L. Renee’ has been an avid community activist but became even more involved within the past 4 years. That includes volunteering at SCORE Columbus, public speaking, and leadership.
L. Renee was a Grant Administrator for the State of Ohio, writing a $2 million block grant, right out of high school. She retired at 25 with vested benefits.
After retiring, she started her own company and attended classes at Franklin University, all while raising a young son. She hasn’t looked back, self-publishing 4 books and contributing to a regular column in Pretty Women Hustle Magazine, and Black and In Business for Urban Business Institute. She is also a highly recommended member of the IAPWE (International Association of Writers & Editors)
L. Renee’ is a Certified Neuro-Linguistic Programming Practitioner and Hypnotherapist for the clients of her own Boutique hair salon in Gahanna, Ohio. She is a private real estate investor, credit repair specialist, business consultant, and SCORE Mentor, in addition to owning a 100-person call center in Central Ohio. (DISK, LLC) L. Renee’ is looking to make generational wealth the NORM and not the exception as she helps women in her community build brands and break generational curses.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I came up with the idea for the Salon in my grandparent’s name during the pandemic and opened dead smack in the middle of it. It’s been a challenge to not only retain clients but to keep staff on hand who is consistent and looking to seriously build their clientele. Luckily through the grace of God, we have managed to have 7 “family members” who are now building and growing with the brand as we expand and grow into new areas of skill, branding, and giving back.
As you know, we’re big fans of Stewart Beauty & Barber Boutique. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Stewart Beauty and Barber Boutique, founded by CEO, L. Renee’ Chubb is a legacy build. It’s leaving a legacy from a legacy, The Stewarts, who is L. Renee’s grandparents. Stewart Boutique is the only 100% Black female-owned, inside head-to-toe salon in central Ohio. What does that mean? Simply put, L. Renee’s certification as an NLP practitioner and Hypnotherapist, allows her to help people feel beautiful on the inside and not just on the outside.
There is no other salon, let alone Black-owned, that can make that claim in Ohio. We are also an A-rated salon with the BBB, we have our own beauty supply store and hair line, Stewart Magic Hair™, She also has a feminine care line, called Renee’s Magic Feminine Care, that includes Yoni wash, yoni herbs, yoni pearls, yoni thrones, yoni wash, and yoni mist and even yoni wipes.
Walking into Stewart Boutique is an experience, and we pride ourselves on making sure that each client’s experience is unique as well as memorable. As the CEO I am most proud of the team we have. They are amazing and super talented. Without them, there would be no salon. They are the ultimate pride and joy.
Quote from L. Renee’: “To find out more about us, and what we offer, you can visit www.stewartboutique.com and check out our amazing programs and services. My grandmother Madge (Hence the Magic theme) was a schoolteacher for 25 years. Every child she met she gave a book to. We have a reading corner in the salon, dedicated to her, called Madge’s Corner, and we are proud to announce that we have been accepted as a Qualified Educational Service Provider with The Ohio After School Continuing Education program (ACE). Children from ages 6-18 years old can get a $500 grant towards the after-school program offered at Stewart Boutique, which teaches children the fundamentals of entrepreneurship. You can read more on our website under “Youth Development Program” under MORE.
We have community and giving-back events throughout the year to make sure we are supporting the communities and families that have supported us these past three years. From our family to yours. We appreciate you!
What are your plans for the future?
