Inspiring Conversations with KC Loesener of Kick-Ass Author’s Club

Today we’d like to introduce you to KC Loesener.

KC, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My name is KC Loesener, and my journey as a writer began at the age of eight, when I knew I wanted to become a published author. While I couldn’t have predicted where that dream would lead, the path has been filled with both challenges and rewarding milestones. Along the way, I’ve been fortunate to have the support of incredible people who helped turn that dream into reality, while also building meaningful relationships with fellow authors and publishers through my international travels.

Today, my passion extends beyond my own writing. My goal is to connect with more writers, share my knowledge of the publishing industry, offer practical insights, and help others navigate their creative journeys with confidence.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One of the greatest challenges in my writing journey came with my debut novel, *The Eve of Darkness*, a young adult horror romance. Early in the publishing process, I partnered with the wrong publisher, which led to creative disagreements, a lack of editorial trust, and ultimately the difficult decision to reclaim control of my work and start over.

Rather than allowing those setbacks to define the project, I chose to rewrite and rebrand the novel. I modernized the story, updated the formatting, and changed the title to better align with my creative vision and long-term goals. Although the experience required me to pause future writing projects, it ultimately reignited my passion for storytelling. It reminded me that setbacks are often opportunities to create something stronger, more authentic, and more reflective of the story I set out to tell.

The Kick-Ass Author’s Club (KAAC) is a collaborative community that empowers writers, authors, and readers at every stage of their creative journey. We provide educational resources, practical tools, and ongoing support to help members strengthen their craft, achieve their writing goals, build their author brand, create engaging content, market their work, and confidently navigate the publishing process.

More than a writing community, KAAC is a place to connect, collaborate, and grow.
