Inspiring Conversations with Kaylon Alexander and Larry Spear of 24 Karat Posse

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kaylon Alexander and Larry Spear.

Hi Kaylon and Larry, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Ever since our youth, we always wanted to start a movement bigger than ourselves. Before 24 Karat Posse, we were homies first. We wanted to start something inspired by our friendship. Something that we, and people like us, could identify with. We started 24 Karat Posse in 2013 as that movement. We decided to take initiative and learn the business of fashion ourselves. We’ve gotten to where we are now through trial and error and loyal support from each other and a few other very important supporters.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been a test… but that’s a part of the process, I think that’s the difference between being passionate about something and just doing it as a hobby. It’s definitely been speed bumps in the road but I think that’s why people like us though connectivity of going through adverse times & showing how we prevailed.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about 24 Karat Posse?
24 Karat Posse (24KP) is a lifestyle brand that represents authenticity, ambition, and unity. We specialize in creating products that are original and that resonate with our community. We are a real brand – no gimmicks, no following trends, no fluff. Our honesty and authenticity separates us from others. We didn’t start a brand to be cool. Also, the quality and effort in our products separates us from others. We only make high-quality products and most are made in the US.

We are most proud of the longevity thus far (8 years making apparel) and inspiring others via the 24 rules. We want people to know that we really go the extra mile to make sure every product and every buyer’s experience is as good as possible.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Yeah, have faith in your product, believe in the process, & stay down. Don’t chase instant gratification, strive for longevity. Times like now it’s so easy to get caught up in that but nothing beats high-quality garments, with a meaning behind it, and that makes a person feel good wearing it. Also, study the game, study the greats, watch how they did it. Then you gather all of that information and put it to practice.
