Today we’d like to introduce you to Dexter Bailey
Dexter, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I began my professional journey after graduating from Wright State University.
My passion for media and communications led me to launch my own radio show, Success Radio, on 106.9 FM. Before that, I gained invaluable experience working with the Walt Disney Company. My career then transitioned into education, where I made an impact as an adjunct professor at Wright State University, Fairborn, and National Heritage Academies.
A dedicated advocate for journalism and the Black community, I joined the National Association of Black Journalists, serving as it’s president in 2019. My leadership extends to my alma mater, where I am President-elect of the African American Alumni Association at Wright State.
Additionally, I play an active role in the local community as the first Vice President of the Fairborn Lions Club, demonstrating my commitment to service and excellence in every endeavor.
My diverse experiences reflect my deep commitment to both professional excellence and community service.
Whether through educational contributions, leadership in journalism, or my efforts to uplift and connect people through the Lions Club, I continue to inspire and lead by example. My passion for empowering others and fostering strong community ties ensures that those around me will be their best selves and not let obstacles in the way be a reason for not accomplishing one’s dreams.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
After college, I was not sure what I wanted to do with life. I started in sales but the goal post was always being moved, so I decided to lay my own path.
We’ve been impressed with The Genius Group, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The Genius Group is dedicated to fostering equity, inclusion, and access to critical information within communities.
By creating innovative programs, organizing impactful festivals, and leveraging multimedia platforms, we ensure that positive stories—both from the present and the past—reach and inspire the people we serve.
Our mission is to highlight the progress and potential of communities, bringing to light stories that uplift and inform, while promoting a vision of inclusivity and shared opportunity.

Books that I love include “The Alchemist” by Paolo Choelo, ” Rich Dad Poor Dad,” By Robert Kiyosaki and The 48 Laws of Power By Robert Greene. Also I love my own book titled “All in: Creating Success from Within,” By Dexter Bailey.
