Inspiring Conversations with Danielle Vinson of Vinson Home Team, Broker is Plum Tree Realty

Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Vinson

Hi Danielle, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I first decided to dive into the real estate business back in 2008, during a time when my husband was deployed. At the time, I was working as a marketing freelancer, constantly brainstorming ways to take on new challenges. I remember asking myself, What’s something really big that I could market?

One day, while cleaning out the garage, I stumbled across a business card—the Realtor who had sold us the home we were living in. It was a lightbulb moment: Houses! I realized I could use my marketing skills to help people sell their homes and, just as importantly, find the perfect place to call their own. I have always enjoyed helping people, and I thought that this would be a great way for me to do just that!

Fast forward to 2025, and here I am—fully immersed in a career I love. Every day, I get to help clients navigate the exciting (and sometimes overwhelming) process of buying and selling homes. What started as a simple idea has grown into a full-time business that’s as rewarding as it is dynamic. Even better, is now my husband is no longer deployed, and he works right along side me! My son, whom is only 10, along side me when ever he can. and my daughter helps our when she is home from college. It has truly grown into a family business, something we are all deeply passionate about.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Real estate is not an easy career, and it hasn’t been easy for my family either. There have been times when real estate was our only source of income, and navigating the 2008-2010 market—a time dominated by foreclosed properties—was a challenge in itself. Those properties often came with unique difficulties, and the financial rewards weren’t always significant.

In real estate, the question has always been, Where is your next client coming from? That uncertainty can be overwhelming, especially when you’re starting out. Earning someone’s trust—someone you’ve just met—when they’re making one of the biggest decisions of their life isn’t easy.

There have been moments when I stepped away from my full-time real estate career to take on a 9-to-5 job. During those times, I wasn’t truly happy or fulfilled. I always felt like something was missing, and eventually, I found myself returning to where I truly belong: real estate. When my son was born, he had serious health challenges, and I found myself on the road to Boston Children’s Hospital for the next three years many many times. This made life difficult, and real esate much more difficult. My focus was on being a mom and quite frankly keeping my child alive. So, my business suffered. In time, my husband and I have rebuilt the business, but it has had it’s challenges.

In many ways, it feels like I’m rebuilding my business from the ground up. But at the same time, I’m leaning on the foundation I spent years creating—one that has always been there, waiting for me. And, just like always, my family is right here beside me, supporting me every step of the way.

Real estate may not be easy, but it’s my passion, and there’s nowhere else I’d rather be.

As you know, we’re big fans of Vinson Home Team, Broker is Plum Tree Realty. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
The Vinson Home Team is a partnership built on experience, dedication, and a passion for helping people. Founded in 2008, my husband Danny and I have been proudly serving the Cincinnati and Dayton markets ever since. While these areas are our primary focus, we don’t stop there. If our clients need us, we’ll go wherever they take us—we’ve sold properties in places like Hocking Hills, Columbus, and beyond.

We do have a special offer starting this year! We have flexible commission packages- a Gold and a Platinum Plan and we also work with For Sale by Owners, instead of against them.
We are offering a really unique marketing opportunity for our sellers, in our Platinum marketing package!
I cant say too much about it here, but sellers are going to LOVE it! The best part is that we pay for it, and they don’t have to, but we give them a custom domain, and much more than a video and pictures, like I mentioned, ill leave out the details but lets just say that their home will be on a screen a lot bigger than their computer screen!

At the heart of our business is a commitment to excellence. We specialize in getting homes SOLD for the highest possible price by focusing on seamless processes, effective marketing strategies, and providing wise counsel. As home consultants, we aim to make the experience stress-free for our clients, guiding them through every step with care and expertise. We’re known for our five-star service—answering every question, returning calls promptly, and explaining everything clearly.

While our current focus is Ohio, we’re excited about expanding into Kentucky soon as Danny is in the process of obtaining his Kentucky real estate license.

We also have the honor of being members of the VA HOME TEAM, a group dedicated to helping Veteran clients buy and sell homes in Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky. This mission is close to our hearts because we’re Veterans ourselves. Supporting fellow Veterans in achieving their real estate goals is one of the most meaningful aspects of our work.

What truly sets us apart is our customer service and depth of experience. With over 400 families served, we know what it takes to get the job done right. Every house is unique, and we take the time to market each one in a way that ensures it shines for the perfect buyer. It’s all about putting our clients’ goals first, working with them—not just for them—to achieve success.

We’re most proud of our longevity in this industry. Real estate isn’t easy, and staying in business since 2008 is an accomplishment we don’t take lightly. With most agents lasting only a couple of years, our endurance speaks volumes about the strength of our brand and our dedication to this field.

Above all, we want people to know that we care. We care about our clients, their goals, and their plans. We listen, we collaborate, and we deliver. From start to finish, we ensure our clients receive the same five-star service that has been our hallmark since the beginning. For us, it’s not just about buying and selling houses—it’s about building relationships and helping people take the next step in their lives. For us….we are serving our clients, and we mean that whole heartedly.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
One of my favorite childhood memories has to be all the ones that included my dog. I’m a lifelong dog lover, and the best gift I ever received was my dog. She wasn’t just a pet; she was my best friend through thick and thin, the keeper of all my secrets, and my constant companion.

But if I had to pick one standout memory, it would be the time I entered my first-ever dog show with her. I had one goal in mind: to win a big, shiny trophy. Well, I did win first place…but instead of a trophy, they handed me a silver plate.

Now, what 10-year-old gets excited about a silver plate? Not me! So, naturally, I did what any 10-year-old would do—I filled it with water and let my dog drink from it. After all, she earned it, right? Little did I know, water and dog slobber aren’t exactly kind to silver. That plate was ruined in no time.

Oh well! I went on to win plenty of trophies after that, but I’ll never forget that first “big win” and the laughable letdown of the silver plate turned dog bowl. It’s a memory that still makes me smile.
