Inspiring Conversations with Clint Planck of Rock Solid Fitness and Nutrition

Today we’d like to introduce you to Clint Planck

Hi Clint, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’m Clint Planck. I’m a certified nutritionist and personal trainer, nationally-qualified bodybuilding competitor, and father of five. I started my fitness journey in my pre-teen years with my dad and brother in Georgetown, OH in our garage, the original Cement Gym. In my early 20s, the Police Academy and time in civil service kept me conditioned, but in my 30s, I got out of shape and gained a significant amount of weight. In 2019, after being diagnosed with pre-diabetes, hypertension, and a deteriorating ankle and joints, I knew I needed to make a change.

In 2020, amid the pandemic shutdowns, I became even more determined, continuing to train with a few bars and dumbbells, a makeshift bench of wood and cinder block, and items around the house like trash cans filled with water. My dad brought the handmade pieces of our old home gym to our garage and the second Cement Gym was born. I focused on my nutrition and lost 100 pounds. I began putting on muscle and started competing in bodybuilding competitions.

I loved this lifestyle change so much, that I wanted to share my passion for transforming people’s lives and help others make long-term changes in their health.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Pandemic shutdowns prevented in-person training. I was able to offer online nutrition coaching and fitness plans. Not being well-known in this area, I began traveling back down to Georgetown and contracting with gyms where I was known, but that was not a good long-term solution. It did help me build my portfolio and eventually succeeded in obtaining contracts nearer home.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

Having gone through my own transformative journey allows a better understanding of the process and what it takes to succeed long-term. I now run the wellness program at Molson Coors and contract to several gyms in the area, as well as maintain online coaching clients.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I think hard work, consistency, and dedication are more important than luck. I’m a firm believer if it doesn’t challenge you, it doesn’t change you. I genuinely care about each and every one of my clients and love what I do. I believe when you are good at what you do, and continue to operate to the best of your ability, your reputation will get out.
