Hi Brittany, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
The Opal Haus started as a dream to create a space where people could gather, celebrate, and connect. My background in marketing, branding, and event planning gave me a deep appreciation for creating memorable experiences, and I wanted to bring that to life in a venue of my own.
When I found a historic space in downtown Lawrenceburg, I knew it was the perfect place to bring my vision to life. The Opal Haus was designed to be more than just an event space—it’s a community hub. Since opening, we’ve hosted 68+ events in our first year, launched a women’s empowerment program through Power to Pursue, expanded into Airbnb hospitality, and continuously enhanced our space with new renovations to better serve our clients.
Now, as we enter our second year, The Opal Haus continues to grow, with bookings filling quickly for 2025 and beyond. Our mission remains the same: to provide a beautiful, welcoming space where people can come together to celebrate life’s biggest moments
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road has not been smooth, but every challenge has made the journey even more rewarding. Transitioning from a demanding full-time corporate career to running my own business while also raising our three boys and managing our farm was not easy. I had to redefine my work-life balance, shift my mindset, and learn to navigate the unpredictability of entrepreneurship.
While my background in marketing, branding, and event planning gave me a strong foundation for launching The Opal Haus, being a small business owner requires constant adaptability. There’s always something to juggle—whether it’s handling bookings, growing the business, or making sure I’m present for my family. The key has been prioritizing what needs my focus each day and staying disciplined in both my personal and professional life.
Despite the challenges, seeing the venue come to life, witnessing the joy it brings to our clients, and knowing I’m building something meaningful for our community makes every long day worth it.

For me, success at The Opal Haus isn’t just about the number of bookings—it’s about the joy and ease we bring to our clients. Success looks like a full calendar of events, happy clients who feel supported and stress-free, and a venue that continues to be a place where people can gather to celebrate life’s most special moments.
There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing families and friends come together in our space, knowing we’ve played a part in making their day seamless and memorable. Whether it’s a wedding, a baby shower, or a corporate gathering, my goal is always to take the stress off our clients so they can be fully present in their celebrations. Success also means continuing to grow, bringing in new opportunities for the community, and making The Opal Haus a go-to space for both private events and meaningful local programming.
