Today we’d like to introduce you to Bethany Williams.
Hi Bethany, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am originally from a small town called Monclova, Ohio, two hours north of Columbus. I was born to two entrepreneurial parents who have since both passed away but were very hard-working. I made my way through college and quickly worked my way up the corporate ladder. And for the last eight years working as a consultant for a firm.
The firm I worked for gave major pay cuts in 2020 and this is when my entrepreneurial DNA turned on. I began looking for ways to supplement my income. As a single mother to two humans, a pay cut was a major deal to me. One day, I ran into an Ohio State football player who was going to speaking engagements and asked me to help him negotiate his fee long story short and we were able to increase his speaking fee.
From there, I began my agency and consulting company called The Bethany Williams Experience and now I am an agent for professional speakers and I help speakers build and scale the speaking business. And within two years, I am being called on by major names in the industry to help them as well.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
The road to entrepreneurship is never smooth. Anyone who tells you that entrepreneurship is easy is lying. Is it fulfilling? Yes! Is it betting on yourself? Yes! But it also comes with the biggest challenges that I prefer to call growth opportunities. When you first start by yourself, there is no IT department to help you with computer problems.
There is no accounting team to handle the finances. At first, you have to wear every hat in the business until you go little by little to start adding the right people to help you with your business and it’s in that phase where I found the most growth opportunities.

The Bethany Williams Experience (TBWE) is an international professional speaker agency located in Columbus, Ohio. We help people all over the world find the perfect speaker for their events. TBWE also consults with speakers on scaling their speaking businesses. TBWE is unlike any other agency because our motto is to over-deliver, over-deliver on service, and over-deliver on impact.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory was going to Florida every spring and Christmas break with my grandparents. We would go outside and pick fresh tangerines for breakfast, swim all day, and then have good fresh veggies on the grill for dinner.
